7 Benchwarmers Who Would be Starting Elsewhere

The best teams in the world have plenty of things in common, including very strong backups. This means a lot of players on their bench could start for other teams seamlessly. This can be massively frustrating for them and leads to many wanting to leave their current club in order to play more. Here are seven players who would be starters on a number of other teams.

I don’t know about Noni Madueke but he started for Chelsea in the Pre-Season while Sterling benched.

I truly believe He deserves more (if you watched city you'd know how impactful he was for city when KDB N Haaland got injured playing different roles him and Foden are one of the most underrated duos in the Premier league)

Despite the fact that he’s won every single trophy for club and country at the same time, you still have to feel for Julian Alvarez. The guy is an excellent player, but he’s honestly too good to be playing as a backup striker. At Manchester City, he was never going to start over Erling Haaland and while he did accumulate a lot of minutes last season as he played more games out of any player in that team, before looking at this stat to try and push an agenda that he should stay at the club, use context as that was only because Kevin De Bruyne was injured and Haaland missed some games as well meaning that he was forced to play out of position at times whenever he was on the field and when both of them were fully healthy, he was relegated to the bench again.

With reports that he’s ready to leave Manchester City in search of regular game time where he’ll be guaranteed to be a starter every week, whether he goes to Atletico Madrid or another club, all I know is that he is good enough to be a first choice striker on any team in the world and at the age of 24 in his prime, he has to play as he doesn’t look as if he’s content with his role in the team.

Bro your so good i love your content. As for Julian Alvarez he needs to leave city to another good club where he can have an important squad role and he can showcase all of his talent because in city he is lost in Haaland's shadow😅😁

Mikel Arteta seems to have a ruthlessness when it comes to goalkeepers because he went from relying on Bernd Leno to Aaron Ramsdale and now David Raya. I don’t blame him for that because as a manager at the highest level of the game, you have to make big decisions even though it could be harsh and it can upset the fans; he clearly wants the best out of this team and they’re back at an elite level, but he wants them to translate their progress and start winning trophies on a regular basis and in order to do that, he has to drop or get rid of players who aren’t good enough to take them across the finish line. Football is such a harsh game and Ramsdale is a prime example of this because the way that Raya took his spot last season was exactly what he did to Leno a couple of years ago at Arsenal where he had a run of good performances which displaced the number one goalkeeper at the club only for him to then get replaced by another keeper.

At the start of last season, many fans and pundits were questioning their decision to sign a goalkeeper since Ramsdale was doing so well previously and everyone knows who their undisputed number one option in goal is going forward. It’s true that Raya is an upgrade on him since he won the Golden Glove for having the most clean sheets in the premier league last season and he did command his area in goal, but that was mainly because Arsenal’s defense was very good, what I’m saying is that since Arteta believes he’s going to elevate them to being champions in the premier league and potential contenders in the champions league, they clearly want to take the next level and Ramsdale needs to leave ASAP because he is too good to be a backup goalkeeper. After next season, watch the same thing happen to Raya where he’s gonna do a great job only for them to sign another goalkeeper like Diogo Costa even though I don’t see that happening.
