It is so beautiful when Hokule'a sails down a coast. Saw her first sailing in 1995. She sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge and we, Kupuna ladies, threw flowers from the bridge. Every outrigger was out and some had planks across for tahitian dancers. The tall ships in full sail were out and it was a magnificent day in San francisco. Years later we went to Sausalito to see Hikianali'a when she sailed from Hawaii. Met the crew. Fun day. We watched Hokele'a sail down the Kona coast during "reunification". Very impressive. The Original intent of Hokuleia was to demonstrate that Hawaiians IMMIGRATED to the islands from their ORIGINAL homeland. Remember?
