This is exactly why I love Arcane's soundtrack so much.. Each song is written specifically for the scene it's played in and the lyrics just reflect the feelings of the characters in the scene. This song and "Wasteland" are beyond a perfect fit. I really wish I could rewatch the show for the first time again.

Maria Egan from Riot Games said about working with the band: ''What happens with Arcane is that we shall get sent some rough storyboards and there will be a temp track attached, it was a song that immediately made me think that Tyler Joseph has to write this. The moment was designed for this band and we knew that Tyler was a fan of the show and that they wanted to do something with us. He never really writes for anything else, but he loves the show so they wanted to see it and we sent it over. Literally three days after he got the scene, we got the song back, when that one came in it was like, ‘Okay, well, that’s it’. We were able to work really closely with them to create this moment. He’ll tell his own story about it, but he has his own investment in what the song means to him. But he really loves the show so he was so into being part of the world and trying to tell the story. He’s an exceptional songwriter, and he’s always been one of my favourite writers, lyrically. That’s a very masterful skill; to take specific stories and make them universal. There’s a handful of writers at any given time on the planet that do that well, and Tyler’s definitely one of them.”

My grandmother passed away on the very day this song was first released on Spotify, it's very sudden and painful. What surprised me was the fact that the lyrics were so relatable to what had just happened, it was surreal, but now it all makes sense.

I later found out she refused to call me the day she fell ill because she didn't want me to worry. This segment specifically has such a deep meaning because of that: "but I'd rather you not be here for what could be my final form, stay your pretty eyes on course".

This is a beautiful song, and I will never forget it. Thank you Tyler, and may your beloved grandma rest in peace

So sad that he thought he was "imperfect", but many (Sky and Jayce) loved and admired him exactly how and who he was and thought "he is 'perfect' ".
Moral of the story: we should tell our dearest ones that we love and support them more often.
And if you are struggling with illness or disability: you are enough and loved (I'm sure you are!). Thank you for being here.🫂
