I would hesitate and feel uncomfortable while talking to someone who I can not identify as a person.

They’re literally arguing about Sahar’s “freedom” to oppress herself lol
What a joke

It's disingenuous to frame Sahar as the lived reality for ALL women wearing a veil. It certainly isn't in religiously conservative countries where faith doctrine is law.

While banning the veil is utterly absurd, Rachel is correct on that. There is no easy answer to protect women who are conditioned or are otherwise forced to wear the veil, and those who choose to voluntarily. And how do you sort those who are conditioned but lie out of fear of reprisal? Best you can do is offer them protective services and the ability to come forward.

There are women who ALSO cover their eyes with fabric. They cannot even cross the street safely . And they dont go more than a block from their house without being accompanied by a male. Are you telling me that is a choice? A choice to be respected ? 😅😅😅

They do look like letter boxes, and how many of them are concealing the male?

We don't even know if that's Sahar.

Rachel: "My doubts about the full face veil is were the women choosing to cover their faces".
Sahar confirms it's her choice.
Rachel: "I still have a problem with the full face"

It's possible she has stereotypes as well that's why she thinks it's causing problems on the streets. If she only mentioned the cultural shock, I would understand and respect that but it also wouldn't make it right to suggest others take off something that has meaning to them just to make you feel comfortable. I am also glad she pointed out that from a feminist point of view, there is nothing wrong with this because there isn't.

My body my choice but only to remove clothes, not put them on, the mission of this failed society is clear now

yall cant accept someone for their religious faith? but we have to accept people for being a gay non gendered person with made up pronouns? make it make sense.
religion isn't up for debate over "feelings" its their religion wich is set in stone... argue with their god about it. imagine being mad at god for sinning and whining about not getting into heaven, then argue with god trying to change his rules that he set. let that person do whatever they gotta do to make it by their religion's rules.

Freedom of religious expression can’t cut feminism off at its knees

why don't men show their devotion to their faith by covering their face too? it is illogical for one group of believers to do one thing, and not the other group.

Well, covering up for me as Muslim woman makes me feel more comfortable and free... I can focus on most important things I'm destinated to do, and people are connecting with my mind not my beauty so it is a connection on a deeper level.

I don’t think “a reaction” is justification to call for a banning of something you don’t understand. I mean we are so diverse in our beliefs and expression that banning based on reaction is not plausible.

Sahar handled them well! I don’t understand why Muslim women are being attacked because they want to express their faith. People are upset because they are covering up their face, but didn’t we call have our faces covered during the lockdown ?😂

Women should be free to choose. But awareness need to be brought that it was originally meant to hide from men and not for fashion.
Problem is they are disrespected in their community if not wearing one, which kind of obligates voluntary wearing.
And there are families which want their women to wear it, but men from same family go out in western clothes including denim, suits, jackets.
Awareness needs to be brought to women and let them decide.
