You're too kind. I like that concept...BSV...Best Short Video, it should be part of a video rating available on Youtube. Cheers to you!

Yes, biggest...and best is the way to go if you do a lot of dry camping or use the elctric motor fishing. Good batteries pay for themselve on the long run. Thanks for posting a comment. Cheers!

The AmpHour rating is meaningless without reference to time. The typical standard is at a 20 hour rate, although some battery manufacturers rate their batteries at a 5 hour rate as well.  In other words, the battery can deliver the AH rate when discharged for 20 hours or 5 hours, whichever the case may be.

Therefore a 120 AmpHour rating means the battery can deliver 6 amps for 20 hours.  This does NOT mean that the battery can deliver 1Amp for 120Hours or 120Amps for 1 hour.

This is due to Peukert's Law, and has to do with internal heating of the battery under discharge and other factors. If discharged at a 120Amp rate, the battery will deliver power for far less than 1 hour. And when discharged at a 1Amp rate, it is likely the battery will deliver power for more than 120hours.

The same applies to your examples when you convert Amps to Watts as the Voltage in either case is constant.

When you have time, research Peukert's Law.

I wanted to see if you could do a video on how you would run calculations to figure out what things (fans, laptops, and etc) you can run off of a solar power kit. For example Harbor Freight has a 40 watt system. What can a system like that run with a battery attached to it. Thanks a million! Fantastic video.

That's what so great about the internet, and YouTube, is that you can share. It's really the best educational tool mankind has ever had. Thanks for your comment.

I'm inclined to stick with identical batteries that deplete and recharge equally so nothing overheats which over repeated cycles shortens the life span of any system. Of course, the batteries of which you speak aren't so different so I don't imagine anything dangerous would result. Always better safe than sorry.

Yep, worked for me, too! Solved a question I had, with that formula. Thanks for the effort!

I need more information. The device in your docking station, how many amps or watts does it use. Without its power rating I cannot help you out.
