Finally guys ,after weeks of researches and deciding on the best option to make this BMW TURBO E36 work with 440cc injectors, we choose the piggyback option which we configured in FUEL IMPLANT MODE.
Follow these steps if you guys wanna do a similar project on your car.

proper decission guys, finally! there was no point to fight with stock ecu, but I sad it few times - you could ask .. 😜 As you came to conclusion - yes, they are programable, but not thru cable and overall not for boost. DET is here the most reasonable solution. When car already runs stable it is for sure rewarding and has to feel like big relive. My b16 on a lot smaller turbo was still very hard to drive on dry, so I think, that after first drift test you will be ensure to start stage 2 of the build - stock manifold with U-pipe and some simply cheap K04 or td05 MSR turbo. Please let this manifold-turbo setup hang on the wall for the "good" memories ;)

Seriously impressed with you and your channel. I think I will be referring to this series a lot in the future as I have just bought an E46 with an M43B19 for only £350 hehe. Planning on getting a turbo on there this summer! Grazie mille!!

It was a turbo kit for a m44/m42, i think you have a m43, maybe thats why you guys were having trouble with the exhaust manifold

Hey boys! Why you are using the DET3 device in fuel implant mode? The easiest way to run the device is the puggyback mode. It does not matter that the stock ecu can not “see” the boost. The DET3 device can sense the boost with build in map sensor. I am running mine exact as i described and can enrich in boost areas. The only problem that i have with my stock ecu /siemence simtec 56.5 on vectra b / is that when i tuning the det3 i must take off the stock O2 sensor and use wideband for proper tuning. And when i finish with all and put the stock O2 sensor m, siemens ecu start to make correction and the mixture in boost is around 14afr which is not good for boost. That is my only problem, but i find how i can solve this. Respect for project brothers 🤘

Very useful and detailed video.
A clarification would help me in the same project for my BMW m42b18.
You used the signal from the MAF (41) to det3 (pin 2) and you made the modifications to the analog input, output and scales tables. Det3 reads the signals from the MAF and you had MAF to MAP conversion.
After that you removed the MAF from the engine. Did you also delete the MAF line (41) in det3 (pin 2) ? did you make other modifications?

but in the diagram at 10:43 this are the connections shared whit the stock ecu or are the ones that are only plugged to the det3??

Complimenti 😁una domanda, ho anche io una def 3 in fuel implant mode, per collegare il lounch control non mi funziona su un uscita (2) interruttore poi a massa, devo per caso usare un pull up + 5 V e poi interruttore e a massa? Se mi puoi spiegare come l’hai collegato tu, ti ringrazio

Hi man, great video! I have a question and i hope you can help me out, i have a e46 330i turbo with the same det3 but the car acts weird when its warm, if the engine is cold it runs fine but when it gets hot i cant even release the clutch without the engine dying. Do you know if this could be a det3 software issue or something? I'm really stuck on it for a couple of weeks/months now and i really wanna drive the carrrr xD

Crank sensor pin 68 cut an put in on ground 34? And pin 68 of ecu go to 4 pin det 3?

Bello ragazzi!! Avevo visto info della det3 ed ho trovato il vs video. Voglio comprarla per la mia fiat coupé 1.8 con una Hitachi adattando un compressore vol. Sto cercando info e aiuto. La det3 supporta gli iniettori sia di alta o bassa impedanza? Che tipo di trigger può leggere dalla posizione albero motore?

you had to bridge pin 14 and 18 with the round 20pin adapter in order to write on the ecu, at least that is the case on 6 cylinder engine ecus, but if the ecu was too old, it might have not had writeable/readable memory, or maybe m43 has all models with non-readable and non-writeable ecu

What size turbo are you using? Im starting to get parts together, and for a budget turbo an FMU should be good they use them alot in budget turbo builds.
