When you visit Wrocław Poland, if there is only one thing you do, make sure you make it to Cathedral Island! It's a very old part of the city and as you walk over one of the bridges to get there, you can feel how magical it really is. One of the coolest experiences we've every had, was watching the Cathedral Island lamp lighter, light the gas lamps at dusk. One man is responsible to light and put out the 100+ gas lamps on Cathedral Island every single day. He mysteriously appears in a black long-tailed jacket and a top hat and begins marching around lighting the gas lamps. He puts them out every dawn. He is also responsible for maintaining these lamps and making sure that they not only work the way they are supposed to, but that they look perfect as well. Definitely don't miss this spectacle when you visit the beautiful European city of Wrocław Poland! This is only done in a handful of cities in Europe. It is definitely a magical experience!
