We visited Wrocław, Poland this summer and couldn't miss the legendary Cathedral Island (Ostrów Tumski) Lamp Lighter.
This tradition is centuries old and only done in few cities in the world today. This mysterious man appears dressed in a cloak and a top hat, and lights the lamps every dusk. He also puts them out every dawn. In addition, he is responsible for maintaining the lamps and making sure they are kept in pristine condition.
We are Nick and Karen, a couple of early retirees who love travel and adventure. We are currently living like nomads slow traveling the world! We spent the summer in Krakow Poland and absolutely fell in love with this beautiful country as well as the culture, food, and people.
