This is part 47 of the series (Boxes 200-202, and 57-59 YTD) and I do plan on updating it from each quarter box I hunt from this point forward until the Washington quarter coin collection is nearly completed! I can't believe I found a fake quarter during this hunt! Keep hunting and good luck! They're still out there for us to find!

Your hunt & fill series have prompted me to try to fill out a set of state (1999-2009) and America the Beautiful quarter books (P&D) just from metal detecting finds. The coin quality is never going to be great, but it made me wonder how long it would take to do so. I started over the summer and right now am only missing 9 D quarters of the state set and 10 D from AB. The P coins are a lot harder to come by here in California so have a lot more missing there. Still fun to track what I find. Cheers!

My guess for the fake quarter is that teachers buy it to teach little kids about coins. Great video!

I have yet to find a W mintmarked quarter. That plastic quarter can be found in educational kits for kids when they learn about money.

Hey rob when you have time do you think you could go over your pluggable settings? I find it makes an awful glare on newer coins

I taught first grade for over 20 years, that was definitely similar to an educational coin. The “quality” coins copied the reeded/smooth edges too. I’d throw real coins in the mix because the fake ones cost more than face value.
