Ammonia FREE glass cleaner ONLY bro. Ammonia (which is in most window cleaners) breaks the silicone down, and can allow it to not last as long. Just fyi buddy. Have a good one!

I use tooling foam, it's the best thing I've ever used when siliconing.

I’ve used the denatured alcohol instead of Windex. Seems to work really well.

If you’re already cleaning with denatured alcohol, just use it to clean the silicone joint. The alcohol gives it a smooth finish

Denatured alcohol shouldn't be touched with bare skin. It soaks in through skin and ruins nerves. Maybe use ethanol instead. Spray ethanol too instead of ammonia glass cleaner, it dries faster, too.

Just use the denatured alcohol to tool the caulk. It dries faster so the caulk can start drying sooner.

It won't last as long with Windex. Just my experience I used it for a while and all my work came back for repair eventually. Maybe only at certain temperatures or on certain materials

Foaming glass cleaner in a spray can works much better and if the faucet is installed properly it doesn’t need silicone.

Soapy water is the way to go with silicone interior/exterior but the key is to use Dawn dishwashing liquid, all others aren’t as strong.

The cleaner you used is the best thing to spray after the silicone. Denatured alcohol won’t allow the silicone to spread on it after you smear the bead

Best crazy as it sounds I found the best thing for tooling silicone caulk is the first put your finger in your nose. I found some of my most professional looking work is when I use this technique.

Alchol works really well too. Not sure how it works with time. We use it at work, constructing cleanroom laboratories the caulk we use is a food grade adhesive caulk but I don't see us having to redo a lot of our caulking just the ones someone didn't wipe the excess off.
