All these tips i learned on my own when I was far down the line! Another i would also say is don't focused too much trying to remove the excess thin layer after spreading. This easily rubs off when dry and doesn't effect the bead.

i did the uprights first and then the bottom, looks so good, every time i have a shower i admire my own work😂

These simple tools have transformed our jobs, I thought I was quite good at the finger swipe till I used these. You get a flawless finish everytime. I like the look of those spatula ones and the one that smooths out the grout lines never tried those but will definitely give them a go.

Hey yall, I bought this Kramer kit cause I was so stressed out about caulking my shower and IT WAS A GAME CHANGER!
It works very well and has much improved the look and quality of my joints.
To be fair, I end up scaping off a lot of extra unnecessary caulking, but I am getting better with practice.
Also watch this guy's video on the "how to's" of proper caulking techniques. cheers

I’m a kitchen fitter and to be honest been using the finger method for years. Sometimes see the granite fixers using detergent spray and all they did was make a right mess, after a while the silicon starts to fray when the customer wipes it. I saw your vids a while back and have been using the tools you suggested, I bought a cheap kit from a Decoraters merchant and they were fine, but the other kit with the guide tool is a must for big grout lines. Gonna buy the long spatulas for behind sinks and taps but they are overpriced for what they are. Overall tho, the silicone comes out perfect now, well done for the vid mate, you DO learn something everyday, even if you have being doing for years 👏

I used a basic kit from B&Q in the UK but referenced two of your silicone videos to guide me most of the way.

I didn't have to do too many uprights, but where I did, I didn't wait to let them dry before covering the connecting horizontals but still made do using your techniques and suggestions as guiding principles.

Turned out really well for a first go, so thank you so much!

I used this kit for my new bathroom which I installed including floor to ceiling tiles! Excellent device.

Great tools - I'm one of the 3 million viewers. I have been using them to spread CT1 instead of silicone so I can paint it. Lovely stuff!

I'm over 50 Charlie so have enough attention span to enjoy the detail in your full length vids. Have to say however that you do an amazing editing job to convey a message so clearly in a short like this.

I religiously ignore ads on YouTube. I use adblocks and sponsorblock extensions. This is the first time I've ever clicked a link in the description. I need this. Thanks.

Works a treat, couldn't silicon for toffee before. I use the Fugenfux too, bit pricey tbh but couldn't find a cheaper equivalent

I’ve fairly recently started re-sealing baths and showers since a customer started giving me jobs at different properties and it does take practise and some trial and error and you will make mistakes.

However using soapy water on baths has definitely been a no no for me as I often end up with silicone not sticking/gaps when doing this.

A simple profiling tool with a straight diagonal profile is best and isn’t messy providing you apply the right amount of silicone in the first place.

Practise and patience and the right tools for the job are key for a quicker and easier job.

Hi Charlie, just want to say i'm an avid fan of your work/videos and a few of them have been super applicable/useful. Thank you so much for these videos and teaching people why you do something as opposed to just showing people how to do it... maybe that's the engineer in me wanting to know. The fairy liquid is such a common sense one (not to use it as it's the very thing you're trying to prevent) but I would have done that without your video. Will be watching a lot more of videos and hope to support the channel as well.

The only issue I had with this technique was that I wasted quite a bit of silicon even though I cut the tip as you suggested. Love the joints though.

Just saw this and after 20 years in a house some butchers built the silicon has turned black in the bathrooms from mould getting under it. I clicked on the links you kindly provided and I am fortunate I just put new batteries in my pacemaker.
The Cramer Profiling Kit 7 ranged from AUD$50 to $174
The Fugenfux Profiling Tool was AUD$51.97
The Cramer rotating silicone nozzle 4 set AUD$39.07 . I was especially keen to get this one but not at that price. As for the rest I guess I shall have to be diligent and make sure I don't have soapy stuff on my fingies when I "profile" the silicon bead. Bloody annoying because *every* silicon seal has to be replace by the clowns who built this house.
Still, the video was very helpful so I am very much appreciative for that.
*Thank You* Charlie. 👍

I just use the back of a teaspoon. Always worked fine.

Absolutely love your channel Charlie - return to it all the time for tips. Question - I can’t seem to find your Amazon Store when using the Amazon app. Could you possibly create a short showing us how? I’d like to buy from your store front but haven’t found an answer anywhere on Google or Amazon as to how to do this using the app.
Thanks!

Great kit. I bought it based on your review. Sad that most tradesmen still do use their finger and a load of fairy liquid. I have first hand experience of it!
