Cliff, thanks for our clip. Ive been so happy with my KH1. Worked all bands today when activating the Trail of Tears, using just the whip, AXE1 coil, and the additional 33’ counterpoise.

Hi Cliff, thank you for a really nice video. I’ve put you into my ham alerts app so maybe I will hear you one day and we can QSO, QRP of course! Cheers, Lee.

I hear ya on not being lazy, and giving everyone a '5NN' signal report. The last activation I did seemed like I was giving everyone a '55N' signal report. When you're in the process of writing down call signs, it can be difficult to remember to look up to the radio at the S meter.

Very nice - what setting do you have on the side tone and/or did they make a change in a sw update? It now sounds acceptable, but all videos before were just nauseous to my ears. So, KH1 or KX1 - what's your preference? Thanks!

Cliff, my wife and I did our first SOTA activation today! One of our chasers was Glen W1ND, who told me he had a KH1. He mentioned that he was in one of your videos, this one which we hadn't watched yet. What a small world.

How do you both listen with headset and record the audio? Do you use an audio splitter and record to an audio recorder?

I have a host of things learned by operating in the field. I generally write an after action report and post it to my weblog and it includes a list of things learned.

One of them was to always have some bug repellent with me. I typically have a single use wipe of Ben's in a cargo pocket just in case. I also bought a head net last year after the biting flies were so bad in northern Nevada. I keep it in my pack (that stays in my 4Runner).

Fun stuff. Thanks for sharing! I hope to work you sometime. de AG7TX
