As a Scot who speaks Gaelic, I was quite shocked when you said you were American. Your pronunciation is very good. Keep up the good work.

Your Gàidhlig was so good I got freaked by your American accent lol

As a Scot I am absolutely blown away with how authentic you sound! You have mastered the accent and enunciation already. When you said you were American my jaw dropped. Thank you for sharing in my language and culture and I hope you've had a wonderful time learning it!

If you're curious we actually have 4 languages we speak in Scotland. You should give Scots and Doric a try! Some words will have you giggling 😂

Wow as an Irish speaker this is a lot more similar than I thought

Your accent in Scots Gaelic was so good, and so when you switched to English, I was genuinely shocked by how American you sounded 😂

I just started learning; no idea why but out of all the languages I’ve attempted Gaelic feels so natural to me. My favorite word to say is “blasta” haha, it cracks me up somehow every time

Bloody hell!

You must be one of the only Americans who can do a convincing Scottish accent (perhaps they just needed to learn Gaelic all along?)

The switch into southern states English was actually quite jarring.

Keep up the good work 👍

That was pretty good. I am learning Scottish Gaelic as well; I can speak about the same as yourself in this video. I do have to think about what I am saying but little by little. I am taking Jason Bond's online course, his course is really good, I am learning a lot. Looking forward to more of your videos, these help my Gaelic also.

Thanks. I'm Scottish but never knew any gaidhlig. I'm learning now, but it is good to hear someone speak using the words I'm learning. We have a gaidhlig TV channel here, but it's way too advanced for me I don't have a clue what they are saying.

I speak semi-fluent Irish and I was not expecting to understand so much of what you were saying! Amazing video!! :)

I’m desperately trying to learn Scottish Gaelic. I’m Scottish by heritage but born in New Zealand but have always felt so connected to my Scottish roots

I just sat down and started learning this language. I was shocked by how easily I began to pick it up

Thank you for this video. Ive just started learning in memory of my great grandpa who recently passed and is from Scotland (also from North Carolina over here!). Hearing someone speak the language certainly helps better understand the overall sound and flow of the language.

I would love if you could make of more of this or do it as a livestream where you only speak Gaelic with no subtitles

So about 6 months ago when i started learning Scots Gaelic, i watched this video and was blown away by the language as one descended from ClannRanald, evading persecution for being jacobites my ancestors darted across the world and assimilated well into rural New Zealand with a mix of irish, welsh, manx and other sorts.

Now 6 months later watching this video i'm blown away with how much i understand without needing the subtitles and also understanding why you used this word or that word.

Thanks for the inspiration! i hope to watch this in another six months and compare how much more i'll know.

Tapadh Leibh Carl, agus tha mi ag irraidh sibh gu latha sgionneil dhut!!

mind the lack of accents laptop keyboards are painful :)

I’m fluent in Irish and have just learned now about the similarity to Scottish. I understood 90% of the words in Scottish

I am learning Gàidhlig also and can understand almost everything you said, but cannot speak it this well! Will be following along now to see your journey.
