The One Thing America Needs to Fix Before It’s Too Late

In this short, Patrick Bet David dives deep into the issues America faces with its manufacturing decline, the growing wealth disparity, and the impact of easy access to debt. As we moved away from the gold standard, debt became easier to leverage, causing a widening gap between the wealthy and the average citizen. But what happens when median income can’t keep up with rising costs?

We need to turn our cities into Dubai in every state.😢 There is no valid reason we are so behind the times. We gave our technology to Japan

Competition needs to be pitched at a standard that the country can live with. Many cheaper goods have been made in countries where pollution drains into open country and into the air and work standards would be intolerable. If there is a disparity with those standards, the tariffs need to remain very high. Goods needs to be produced profitably for a more limited market (that is, potentially, only to the population of that nation). Goods need to be made of a lasting quality to warrant a high pay to produce them. High pay means a market able to buy the higher priced products. The products need to cost something reflective of sustainability of the raw materials needed to make them. Low cost nations are producing goods at an unsustainable level and those buying those products often need to replace a product very often, resulting in wastage. However, in the meantime those businesses producing at a higher cost have closed and a consumer is unable to buy a quality product, even if willing to pay significantly more. I buy commercial toasters or air fry ovens because a domestic one lasted little more than one year. The Japanese cars were said to be cheap and nasty initially, and then people found that these cars lasted amazingly well. One still finds rusted out Mitsubishis hauling people up mountains in Indonesia with grunt and reliability forty years or more later. One car costing a lot throughout a family generation should be enough, for the non super rich. It may even be passed down. How relaxing not to be caught up in the next thing simply for marketing reasons. It may help our arms to get a workout with the effort of manually winding up a window. It may help to train more to know general mechanics. Fixable products would sustain a nation when circumstances close of access to new ones. Cuba and Chevrolets for instance. Generally, goods need to be costed on a NON GROWTH of the business scenario. Pay standards need to be policed strongly (unions had their place), because, a rogue business will underpay to be competitive and will force more regular businesses to follow suit.

I've always said make big purchases more affordable for the working class n under. The less things people have to worry about could spark an emergence in us made products. People will start to take more risks starting businesses. Creativity comes from alot of different things. But fear also stops it from happening. Unfortunately, were so divided now that it's almost going to be impossible to get back to " loving your neighbor". And imo only two things can bring it back. A terrorist attack or a country declaring war against us. Jmo

América won’t ever return to manufacturing all of its needs. We do have Mexico and their labor rates are cheaper than China. A huge part of that process is also shipping. México has very deep roots with the US. A dollar spent in Mexico will always return to the US in form of vacations, shopping trips and visiting friends and relatives. Mexico has prepared itself for this reshoring. They just need to get a hold of their criminal gangs, drug cartels.

I hate to sound like a leftist, but something has to be done about the disparity between average worker pay and management pay. In Europe upper management makes like x20 the average worker. Last I checked USA, it’s like x200. And stock buy backs have made the stock market really artificial, cut off from Main Street

China uses manual labour.
American can manufacture with automation. With automation a better quality, uniform products can be produced.
With China using cheap manual labour, there is no consistent quality, that's why their products are rubbish.
American Made is known universally as a top quality product. As soon as everything went offshore, quality suffered.
Why wouldn't anyone pay a little more for such better quality assurance.. 👍✌️

I'm a schoolteacher, and I still can't afford to buy a home. Can I listen to all these financial podcasts? I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to start saving or trying to invest. And I don't have the money to invest. I live chat paycheck by paycheck, but I'm still working toward. It's so maybe by the time i'm eighty, I'll have something then I can call my own

Well you either ACTIVELY help people start businesses. Like hunt people down and convince them and help them, damn near force them. Because jobs aint comin the way you think. The robots are going quickly prevent that. Or you encourage investing as an American Value and you let us into these foreign markets to help the weaker countries build. Its the only two ways and you should probably do both. People should not look at the idea of America think over weight walmart shopper. Every American a foreigner meets should be business owner or an investor.
