Jerusalem: Violence flares in the the Aqsa mosque

Violent clashes have broken out at the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem's Old City.

Israeli riot police were pelted with missiles as they tried to stop worshippers barricading themselves inside the compound.

Tensions are high as Muslims mark the holy month of Ramadan and Jews celebrate Passover.
