Land ownership Palestine :-
Under the Ottomans all land was owned by the Sultan.
When he became a "Sick man" the Europeans encouraged the Tanzimat Reforms.
Alongside human rights (which were never implemented)
there was a commercial aspect which encouraged land ownership.
As one can imagine it was administered with maximum corruption :
the Arab local governor and his family would register village communal land in their own name (or family). Also, Palestinians refused to register to avoid taxes and military service.

However, Jewish groups, though forbidden to own land, purchased it through shell companies.

After the 1948 war Jordan occupied the West Bank. They then allocated land to refugees.
That is how the Palestinian families came to be living on Jewish land.
