I am writing this because...in the year 2024 when I will get into MIT I will come here again, editing this comment by "I got into MIT".And I am working like Hell to get into.

I don't come from the best university, my University Rankin is in the 6000, but I'm preparing for an exam done Only by the Best medical students, where I come from doesn't discourage me, it is only because I come from Africa (3rd world) and I never had the chance to join expensive university, at the end of the day, we are equal and I'm better than millions from better university than mine.. never get discouraged by your university ranking, you have your dreams in your hands, don't be amazed by Yale, Stanford
, Cambridge or havard students they are like you and breath the same oxygen, work hard and never give up on, never doubt yourself, doubt kill more dreams than failure.. power and love to my people from 3rd world countries.. love you all

I have been in a University which ranked in 800 to 1000 bracket. From there I studied at an institute affiliated under University of Cambridge and now I would be joining ETH Zurich for my Post Doctoral study. So it doesn't matter from where you come from. It matters how you are working and what indepth studies you have done. Ranking is just a number. Let's not be obsessed about it.

It was the best time of my life.

My son is just finishing a Master's at one of these university's and he is shortly to start a PhD (A.I. related) at another one on the list. As for me, the polytechnic I attended asked me to leave after the first year due to poor exam results! It's a funny old world.

Actually there are a lot of beast universities in the world but I think universities must give opportunities for those who live in poor and bad situation.

My Father Actually was an Instructor at MIT, and had 7 Phd's, and what he told me is, it is much more about the quality of the Teachers you have at a University and not the University itself. I myself for health reasons have not even finished an Associates Degree, and yet I know more about Nuclear Physics than my Father did, and that was his first Phd. So honestly, a thirst for Knowledge is really much more important than the University you go to as many Universities have digital copies of higher level textbooks than can be accessed by a student of any College it has a ' Knowledge sharing agreement ' with. So don't let lack of funds etc deter you. And if you can get into an Internship program from a Company or Government then I highly recommend it, because practical experience is worth much more than a College degree alone. So I highly Recommend that you find a good Career Councelor and get informed about your education options before you choose a College to go to. 😊❤✌

Ranking the the world's university is just depending on what you're doing:in our modern times - how much money you can make!

Totally up to you!Most of the times, hard works are prevailed these hindrances.

I studied computer science at ETH Zurich for a year. When I told a friend, who also attended this university, that I'd be travelling 4h a day to get there (and back home) she just laughed and wished me good luck. Now I know why. You basically have to live your subject for 3-5 years. I hardly had any free time or semester breaks. I don't know how many universities have this system but in ETH your exams are at the end of the semester break and you can bring 6-10 pages (depending on the subject) of hand-written cheat sheets to the exam. You can choose not to bring one, but then you basically already failed the exam. I'd usually spend around a month writing these cheat sheets and then you can finally start with the actual learning.

Every university has qualified teachers. Every university can be categorised with *good or better* degrees but not with best at all.

Of course depends upon what you want to read and how hard you will work. I read medicine biochemistry and biophysics in Oxford and that has never stood me in my stead.

What university you graduate from doesn’t necessarily dictate your accomplishments in life. Keep aiming higher.
