Titanic 2 - The Rose Diaries. Rose Dawson (Kate Winslet) returns in this new trailer for a Titanic sequel. After losing Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) on Titanic, she struggles to adjust to a normal life. The Rose Diaries follows her time in New York, breaking free from her demons and the ghosts of a sinking ship.

This is a trailer for a short film I've created. It's not real (obviously), instead it's been pieced together from existing footage to create a new fictional sequel. The basic plot has Rose (Kate Winslet) struggling to cope with the death of Jack (Leonardo Dicaprio). She crosses paths with her ex fiance Cal Hockley (Billy Zane) and learns a devastating secret.

Since posting this video I've created many more Titanic videos. Rose Diaries 1 and 2, with number 3 on the way.

This video was created by combining existing footage with new music, voice overs, sound effects and shot footage. Through the use of juxtaposition (and clever editing) a new, stand alone work is created.

This is actually a cool idea tbh. Why did I never think of this?! They could totally make a movie that details Rose's life from 17 to 100 years old, after Jack & Titanic! That's the most plausible way to make a sequel if they ever wanted to cash in on Titanic's continued popularity. They could explore Rose's potential PTSD, survivor's guilt, grief, exactly how she survived without Cal, how she kept Jack's memory alive in her everyday life, her doing all of the things they talked about, Rose meeting her husband/having kids, struggling to keep her past a secret, her inner dialogue, etc. There's a lot to work with! Obviously, Titanic is perfect and doesn't need a sequel lol, but there's definitely potential here!

That would be pretty cool. Imagine if they did a movie where Kate Winslet played Rose again and the story followed her changing her name to Rose Dawson and going to work as an actress and making a living finding a husband, and her telling people her stories of titanic and then they could even bring back Leonardo DiCaprio and have him as jack in Rose’s dreams.

0:58 Ophelia 💙 her performance in Kenneth Branagh’s Hamlet was good. I feel like if that film had come out a year after Titanic (it came out a year before), Kate Winslet’s Titanic fame would’ve attracted a bigger audience to the Hamlet film, and her performance as Ophelia would’ve become just as iconic as Rose.
