This is a tricky piece especially towards the end. I'm singing it for my church's community choir. It sounds so beautiful put together.

What a beautiful piece and congratulations on a beautiful performance by the L.U. Viking Chorale! Fabulous soloist as well! I've never heard of Shawn Kirchner, but I will definitely keep him on my radar from now on. Thank you for sharing.

We did this in our choir and it's lovely. Such a classic melody. We've also done Alice Parker's arrangement.

That piano figure that comes in after the first verse and elsewhere is also in the Black Crowes' song "Descending". I'm curious as to whether Kirchner got it from them (his arrangement came after), whether it comes from a mutual source, or whether it's just coincidence. I haven't heard it in other arrangements, so I'm not sure it comes from traditional sources.
