Magnificent. Stunningly, swimmingly spellbinding.
I've been singing a variant of this for more than 40 years I learned from the Georgia Sea Island Singers at the Philadelphia Folk Festival in the early 70's.
I've sung it for people on their deathbeds, sung it along with 100's of people laying on the ground watching the Northern Lights... every one of those moments understandably had enormous emotional and spiritual impact...
But this... this reveals an impossibly richer depth and power... even though it's only a recording....
Wail on, Jennys... wail on.

Such perfection exists only in the underground music scene - with the real music lovers. Even as famous as they are, I believe The Wailin' Jennys are underplayed! Love this and thank you for sharing :-)

anyone else tears up at this song. It was played on Army Wives during *Spoilers****Jermey Sherwood's funeral scene where Denise and Frank Sherwood had to bury their son in season 5 and said goodbye to him. Still can't watch that ep. It is too painful, and too real for a military funernal.
