I got a 1969 r model Mack with a 237 Mack motor and the transmission is a 6 speed love it good old trucks been driving for 36 year's

Lot old R Macks here in Australia still earning the keep, I have three favorite trucks the R Mack, White Road Boss, F Mack, ill be watching do the old girl up, was a dream of mine to own an R but since I lost my clutch leg thats gone by the wayside unless maybe a Mack with an Allison Auto, keep up the good work.

I think it’s a five speed with a low setting for first which is what the second stick is for

It just takes a lot of time to slow down from 2100 to 12 or 13 unless you blow it down with the Jake. I really like the older trucks. Like one driver said, they just need a switch other than a pedal. Seems like it's wide open or nothing. Thanks and fine job. Just take your time and a trailer will help even things out.

If you wind it just a little more and just wait it will seem like the trans will pull itself into the next gear. Loaded is much easier because you just rev till full governed rpm reach for the next gear and wait. Once you get it down there is nothing like an R with a 5 or 6 speed. I miss that sound and fell of driving them. As many have said Mack’s helped build and supply most of this country.

You need to clean your injector's if not you need to and get a now fuel filter

And clean the inside of your fuel tank's
