Do all protestants believe this or just certain few who hold to doctrines such as Calvinism? As a protestant lay person I would accept the "innocence" of children up until something of an "age of accountability", and although the world is tainted by sin, that we generally have a free will, but that everyone will fall short and sin in one way or the other, and all need Christ. Most non-Calvinists would not agree with Calvinistic views on pre-determination or lack of free will especially in regards to total depravity and/or 'doomed from the womb' mentality.

Great video. I too have concluded that original sin is false. Currently I'm ecclesiologically homeless, because I don't completely agree with any one denomination's theology. So channels like this are a big help. One concept I've struggled with is what the early church's undertanding of Hell is. My honest hope is annihilationism is true. What are your thoughts?

Isn't that just pelagianism? I'm pretty sure the latin western church accepted Augustine's doctrine of original sin long before luther came along. Doesn't Genesis 8:21 support original sin? Or are you conflating original sin with total depravity?

Sin is a breach of a set of arbitrary rules, gleaned from an old book that was supposedly inspired by a god. They are both impossible to fully understand and to keep. There is also no accountability for breaching any or all of these rules. All that is required is belief and repentance.
They are nothing more than an excuse for a demonstrably evil god to punish anyone who refuses to kowtow before it.
Regardless if this god is real or not, the theology is sick beyond belief.
