Love this! Absolute 5 here. "I can't do something. I did something last weekend, " "I haven't researched this enough to have an opinion, " and "that logic is flawed" are all things that come out of my mouth on a weekly basis.

As a Type 6 with a heavy 5 wing, the "Do you want to watch informational YouTube videos?" Along with "Ugh, I need alone time..." struck several notes with me. Here's another Type 5 thing: studying Welsh and Flute. The only reason is that it's all for the sheer fun of learning 😂

That last one with getting sidetracked with research when asked about a movie, I can totally relate. As a 4w5 writer, I'm either stuck in imagination station (type 4) or analysis paralysis (type 5); I'm surprised I get any writing done at all.

I really want to do an experiment where I wake up as a different enneagram type each day and write down my findings. It'll help me with character research. Now, if only I can just "do the thing".

OMG!!! We lived in freakin’ New ZEALAND for a year—what did this 5 do? I studied every aspect of wool, took pictures, and made a photo book about the sheep industry. Learned to spin wool—so the sheep shearing conversation sounded JUST LIKE ME!!

Haha, as a 4 with the 5 wing, I related to so much of this! No more than one event a weekend and don't talk to me for a while in the morning (at least until cup two of java) among others. 😂 🙌

As a 4 with a heavy 5 wing, something that I say often that feels very 5ish is: "that question is WAY too broad, it has like a million answers and I don't have all the time (or interest) in the world to explain them all to you. Be more specific."

I'm so glad you included things about the JWST. My special interest is astronomy, and obviously when the images were being released my poor friends and family were in for a hell of a lot of infodumping. These were spot on, even the manner in which you said them!🙃
