10 Mistakes And Plot Holes In Fantastic Beasts

Secrets Secrets are no fun…unless of course they belong to one Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. The third installment of the Wizarding World prequel franchise has arrived and spoiler alert, it wasn’t terrible. Yes there is a little glimmer of hope that this film can turn around what some consider to be an abysmal franchise within the wizarding world. However, it just wouldn’t be a Harry Potter prequel movie without a mess of plot holes. So, did Hufflepuff actually get those three points Dumbledore gave to Newt? What if Hufflepuff wins by three points? It’s a good thing they got rid of the house cup or else the Wizarding World would likely have twice as many plot holes. There were definitely some mistakes and storytelling issues that you may have missed in The Secrets of Dumbledore, so let’s take a look at them right now.

While the Secrets of Dumbledore certainly seems to have less plot holes than the Crimes of Grindelwald, there are definitely a few characters the film seemed to have just forgotten. Not only characters, but also rules that ten films in the Wizarding World have built up since the year 2001. Now, luckily the film is still enjoyable despite these issues. Still the question begs to be asked, where was Nagini? Where was Tina? Why was Minerva McGonagall there? There are so many more, but which mistake in The Secrets of Dumbledore stuck out the most to you? Be sure to leave a like, subscribe, and comment some more plot holes so that our savior Steve Kloves can start filling some of those in.

Do you think they're going to fix these plot holes in the next movie?

Dumbledore doesn't know the future, he knows the screenwriter.

With the Queenie Yusuf thing, I think there's a deleted scene where Dumbledore implants a memory of his sister into Yusuf. This is the pain about his sister that gets removed. I think this was all planned so they would trust him and leave Yusuf free to spy.

I think the last straw for Queenie was Grindelwald killing the qillin, and that's why she started lying. Other than that, I can't explain these.

Jacob being at Hogwarts, a place under heavy Muggle repelling wards.

And, although not a plot hole, Dumbledore should have defeated Grindelwald during the summit. Sure they postponed it to a future film to be greedy, but how are they going to thematically cap a fight ending in front of the *entire* wizarding world, that would earn him the reputation that people attribute to him.

I was upset about Depp, but damn. I love Madds and he KILLED it. Idk if Johnny would have been able to do much better

Yeah the McGonagall one made me roll my eyes both in the previous and this film. With Bunty's case...I'm not sure why she needed to make the cases from an actual shop. If they used the Room of Requirement, the Room's supposed to provide all your needs, so it should have provided the cases for them. Also why was GG able to be witch like that? Not even Voldermort could bewitch a dead animal to make it pretend to be alive. Nor have t here been any indication that there's magic of that level in the books.

A wizard prison way way worse than Azkaban, where even the guards are horrifically slaughtered, but allows in visitors without identification.

Honestly, the whole Fantastic Beast franchise is a plot hole.

It could be that you can only stop the effects of the Cruciatus while the caster of the curse is distracted. Plus with the Longbottoms they probably had their wands taken away so they couldn’t have protected each other even if it were possible to do so.

Why are you complaining about Nagini? She never should have been included to begin with. Also, Tina is just a love interest. She is not an important character and the USA was isolationist in the 1930s.

The cases were just a 3-card monte and each character was manipulated to pick specific case. It is a simple muggle magic trick. Dumbledore told Jacob which case not to take. Which then caused Newt to take the case that was triggered to melt, because he thought it was real. In turn, Theseus and Lally just took the cases closest to them, which implied they knew theirs were decoys. Basically, everyone thought Newt had the real case.

I could’ve sworn Bunty asked for half a dozen brief cases to be made. Where did the other two end up?

Queenie had seen the murder of the Qilin and was against Grindelwald when Yousef got there. She had also told Credence that she hid things from Grindelwald.

Dumbledore was Supreme Mugwump, and he was pretty darn involved in fighting Voldemort. If anything, the plot hole is that he claimed that he refused every position of power for the rest of his life, yet the books state that he held that position.

I think the Fantastic Beasts films are in the same continuity as the Movies. So the continuity isn’t that strict. That means Minerva could be there and some of the other things could be explained that way.

Dumbledore’ s age is also a plot hole because Dumbledore is supposed to at least 150 years old in the HP films in 1990s but in this movie it’s the 1920s and he’s about late 30s maybe mid 40s in age. That would mean he would only be in his mid 80s in HP

The woman who plays Nagini, (Claudia Kim, ) became pregnant before filming of Secrets of Dumbledore began. That is why you don't see Nagini. I guess that Warner Brothers didn't want to add another recast to the list of things to do.

Nagini appears in FB2 because people want to know what her 'origin' story is. The snake was a woman.
That's done in FB2 so we dont need to talk about her again in FB3.
People ask why again Nagini didn't appear in FB3 now so she will reappear in FB4 to let you know actually she was doing something important and we cant show you in FB3, but because she does something so we have something to see now in FB4.
JoKe writing in a nutshell.

Last one ain't surprising. It's typical in world politics.
If Voldy became the ruler of all UK they will just start corresponding with him instead of the Minister of Magic and the Muggle PM. That's what happens in civil wars.

Just saw movie. ScreenRant and Wikipedia both say this movie takes place in 1932. However around the 26 minutes to 26 minutes and 15 seconds mark Lolly states a little over a year ago Jacob applied for a bank loan from. 6 blocks away where he met Newt and Queenie. Making it early late 1927 or early 1928.

I don't understand how they got married at the end of the movie...they were getting married in the USA...Jacob is still a muggle...there was no mention that the laws in the USA were changed...it was such a big side plot in the past two movies just for it to be overlooked in this one.
