Kishimoto spent years claiming the appearance similarities between Naruto and Minato were coincidental and he absolutely was not Naruto's father.

I definitely agree with the Danzo one being a plothole. Not only would Danzo have been the most obvious choice even without use of hypnosis, he should have been a much better-seeming choice than Tsunade. Tsunade was, at the time, an inactive missing-nin with a gambling addiction. Why was she the council's only choice?

Madara giving Nagato his Rinnegan always bugged me. How did it happen? Did he randomly find an Uzumaki child and kidnap him to implant his eyes? Did he break into his room at night to do it? Even then its a huge risk as Nagato grew up in a nation that was constantly a war zone. He could have been killed. Hell, he was a war orphan when Jiraiya found him by chance as a kid. The more you think about Naruto the less it makes sense.

Hiruzen not taking care of Naruto like his own child is the biggest and most glaring plothole that Kishimoto retroactively created by going down the "muh protagonist is related to the most awesomest characters" trope.

Is it ever explained how people can rip the eyeball out of someone else's head, shove it into their own eye socket and it just works as a functioning eye, magic abilities and all?

24:55 it gets even worse Naruto being an Uzumaki would attract more attention because the other villages massacred the Uzumaki clan because they were afraid of them

Not sure if this is a plothole, but the fact that Neji was told he was completely wrong about life being fated by naruto and how your circumstances at birth dont matter, hard work prevails, etc., only for us to find out Naruto inherited the genes of a clan with one of the craziest Chakra reserves, has the strongest tailed beast sealed inside him by his hokage father upon birth, and is the reincarnation of A. LITERAL. DEMIGOD.

Edit: I just learned what a retcon is lol

Why no one in the village ever figured out who Naruto was is always going to be infuriating to me. The fact that common sense could tell who Naruto's parents were and somehow the village never figured it out. Did the villagers have tunnel vision or something?

If Naruto spent 3 years at the academy. How’d he not know who Neji, Lee or Tenten is when they meet at the chunin exams

There is no greater asspull than Obito “dying” in the cave that just so happened to be Madara’s secret base.

The Kurama helping Naruto one never felt like too big of a plothole to me. We find out that only 1/2 the Kyuubi was sealed in Naruto, with the other half being sealed in Minato with the Reaper Death Seal. It’s possible imo that Kurama wasn’t entirely certain if he would reform if Naruto died because no other tailed beast had ever been split in half like he had. Hence deciding that his best bet was the slow & steady method of “full possession + manifestation”

20:45 Based on what I've heard, the theory behind Naruto being able to fail the test three times while remaining in the same class as everyone else is that schools in Japan often conduct tests every three months. However, this is mere speculation since the series was created for a Japanese audience, and perhaps they could relate to it more.

At least with Itachi not curing his illness I would theorize he wanted to die after the massacre and in his depression contracting an illness that would slowly and painfully so going through with finding a cure for his disease is something Itachi saw as undeserved on the likes of him for his deeds.

In defense of #8 Madaras insane Rube Goldberg revival plan, he seemingly lived in isolation for over 50 years after his fight with Madara. With his later years being completely alone in dank & dark cave with black and white Zetsu as roommates.

You’d probably start having some weird ideas too lol

Still want to address the plot hole that Obito didn't need to declare the 4th Ninja war, he could've used the Zetsu's to transform into ninja from other villages, since it was said that their transformation was perfect, even down to replicating the same chakra as the person they transformed into. With that, the Zetsu clones would then attack other ninja villages and have all the villages declare war on each other. Then in the confusion Obito could then capture Naruto and Bee.

Another plot hole that really bothers me, is that Kabuto states you need genetic material of whoever you want to reanimate, but a few of the people he reanimate wouldn’t have had any to use, such as Sasori and Deidara

Bigger Plotholes:
1. Yagura, a "perfect jinchuuriki" being controlled by Tobi who has little to no genjutsu feats.
2. Minato, someone who's never used sage mode since it took too long for him to mould chakra and that he couldn't maintain it for a long time, pulling out a seemingly "perfect" sage mode outta nowhere.
3. Itachi, someone with "poor" chakra reserves, outlasting Sasuke, someone who was touted by Kakashi to have huge chakra reserves which was further supplemented by Orochimaru's curse mark.

The amount of plot armour that sasuke had especially against deidara always tilted me like really hard, everything was convenient for sasuke in that fight

The plot hole that infuriated me the most by far was Madara breaking the Resurrection Jutsu because he knew the hand signs. Tobirama invented the jutsu, and yet doesn't break the contract from his end when Orochimaru resurrects him during his attack on Konoha. Also, I admit it has been quite a while since I've watched Naruto, is it ever stated when Madara (or Orochimaru for that matter) ever picked up that knowledge?

And idk if you'd call it a plot hole, but the massive contradiction between the messaging of the beginning and rest of the series on destiny bothers me so much. Look at the Naruto vs Neji fight at the Chunin Exams. Neji talks about how your birth defines your role, and your role defines your destiny. Naruto disagrees, and when he wins you're supposed to take that as his worldview winning out. Then Kishimoto spends the rest of the series saying that Naruto is wrong. Every single kid in Naruto's class in Konoha grows up to be just like their parents, including Naruto. In the world of Naruto, who your parents are is literally all that matters when defining your destiny. The lack of consistency frustrates me.
