I purchased this phone over s24 ultra. The speed, fluidity, battery life, display. Is immaculate.🔥

Long time OnePlus users automatically draw a v on the screen to open the flashlight. It's a huge feature that has been the on the phones since OnePlus one. The long press volume button has a special use, that you might not know. If you use a case that folds over and COVERS the screen, then the new hold the volume button feature makes sense. You can easily find the button without flipping open the cover. And you can do it in the dark by feel.
Not exactly sure why reviewers buy an 800 dollar device and not use covers. Who are they reviwing phones for? What average person uses a phone naked. The experience most people have is with cases protecting their valuable purchase.
False touches becomes niche when you have a case or back cover. Also the slipperiness is only noticed when swapping covers.
Join the world and use covers. That's how we experience our phones. When you DON'T use a cover or case it seems like you are getting phones for free and that valuable device for you is being treated like a toy.
Sorry to sound so negative. I'm very appreciative of long term reviews of phones that aren't apple or Samsung.

yeah curved edges will prompt unwanted touches. just slap any case on it and it will put a gap between your hand and the edges which will solve the issue. Still enjoying my oneplus 11, running like its still fresh out the box, only lost 3% battery life after using and abusing it with the supervooc 100w charging which is insane. i thought high wattage charging would degrade the battery faster but apparently not. Overall i can see how happy someone would be with the 12.

2:50 I actually turn on my flashlight by drawing a 'V' on the screen while the phone is off.

The phone is actually IP68 according to some of the developers on some forums and the people who have tested it themselves. they didn't want to do the IP68 test to save cost so the phone wouldn't be priced too high. I would find the post but I'm too lazy

I'm surprised everyone hates the curved edges. I kinda don't like how it usually makes you fill a video and lose the edges of the video, the format doesn't seem perfect for it. But outside of videos not filling it perfectly, I love it! False touches I guess do happen but I dunno, I think I got used to not touching those areas. Pixel 6 user looking for my next phone, probably gonna be this one but idk I'll need to save and buy it outright.

I keep phones for longer than what phones like this have been giving in terms of security and os updates. I really want this, but the 7 year update cycle of the bigger phone companies have me wondering where to go.

I have been using the OnePlus 12 for a half of year and it has been gpod. I liked it so much that I got the OnePlus Open.

People have tested it under water tho, and it has been perfectly fine.

Hate curved displays. I have 2 samsung phones with curved displays which are broken because of that.
Cannot understand why so many manufacturers love them. I can see only disadvantages having such display and the main which pushes me away is poor phone survival after drop because there is more chance to break the display on the edges. Also the cases do not have protection on the edges.

Can anyone shed the light on the screen protector?
I am considering buying (price dropped a lot for the holidays).
I hear reviewers mention factory installed screen protector.
I asked OnePlus, and they say there is NO screen protector.
I am confused. Traumatized. Lost sleep, appetite, ability to perform marital functions.

I have it for a year. I replaced the screen protector with a matte option. No glare. No fingerprints. Thoughts?

I absolutely love all the customization options in the settings. This phone handles decreasing the animation duration, transition speed, etc very well (this makes the UI very snappy if you like that

I bought it at $649 and it's really good more so for that price. One feature that nobody talks about and I really love is the data sharing capability. I recently moved out and don't have any wifi connection, also my phone plan only gives me unlimited data with no hotspot for $25. With the data sharing I can use my One Plus Pad with no issues and I have great connection too. For me it's been a lifesaver.
