That is so awesome!! What a deal!! I found an older, king size Grace frame on Marketplace as well! It came with a Bailey's Home Quilter and it's been a great beginner long arm!! Like you, I immediately fell in love with it! I showed my husband the video because he obviously helped a lot and he said "uh oh....you've got quilter envy" when you upgraded the Juki! 🤣 Haha! Of course not, but I am so happy you got this!!

Congrats on your new toy! I started out with the smaller Juki several years ago, and after the first quilt immediately knew it wasn’t going to work for the throat space. I sold the setup (kept the Juki) and bought a Gammill, and love it. When I was first quilting, a seasoned quilter gave me these tips: 1) don’t use both hands, you’re actually working against yourself, use just one hand to guide; 2) It’s a dance. Get in the rhythm of a waltz … 1, 2, 3 … 1, 2, 3 … this helps you move across the quilt; and 3) Practices, Practice, Practice. She also recommended a glass of wine if you’re a tense quilter. 😉

you got such a good deal! Long arm quilting is totally addictive and so satisfying! LOL I don't have my own but I've done some long arm quilting and I'm always kind of sad when I'm done. It's like "awe, that's it?" You will love it!

You have given me the courage and inspiration to try my grace frame I have had for several years. I am afraid of it . 😂. I purchased it and then my mother became ill and I was busy helping her. Sadly then she passed and I just have not found the courage to tackle it. But your bravery and excitement has persuaded me to go forth and conquer! Praise the Lord for people like you! 💖

I just recently splurged and bought myself a Bernina Q20 on the 9ft frame and I LOVE long arm quilting. I must have watched the same video you did about starting out with quilting your name. That video was really helpful. I’ve mastered a swirly meander and leaf vines, so now I’m working on learning feathers. I love being able to finish my own quilts.
