@The6861 hi, have a look at the first part and you will see that after some expressions we use the subjunctive mood too and not all negative.

@shotscarolan Hi, well, actually both are possible depending on what you mean. If you are sure that nobody will come, you can say je ne connais personne qui peut venir (it also means that you won't make any effort to find some), you could also use the future: je ne connais personne qui pourra venir). however if you are not sure and you want to check afterwards if someone can come you will use the subjunctive.

@piperchangisanass Je veux t'aller is the translation word for word of I want you to go, and here "you" is the object of your sentence and the subject of to go and in French we don't say je veux toi aller (it is not correct French, actually babies speak like that) instead we use the subjunctive, there is no explanation it is just a difference between the two languages (it is the same in Spanish and Italian, we need the subjunctive)! hope it ll help!

actually here it is not the negative form it is just a way of speaking, we add ne from time to tim. In French we often use the verb regretter to translate to wish (I wish you were younger). If you sais Je souhaite que tu sois plus jeune, is it a wish for future.

In your transcript for this lesson you wrote "Je regrette que tu ne sois pas plus jeune" but in the this video you write "Je regrette que tu ne sois plus jeune".
Is there a difference between the two?

So, if i understand correctly, we say "Je crois qu'il est libre" (there's nothing like Will, wish, obligation, doubt) but the negative form appears to express a DOUBT, thus we use "Je ne crois pas qu'il SOIT libre". Even if it's the same verb "croire". The same: "Je pense u'il peut faire ça." but "Je ne pense pas qu'il PUISSE faire ça". Correct?
