I love this, brent has helped me learn to decide what moulding to pick for the character of my home vs..just picking a moulding cause its pretty or might match..even looking at other homes when I'm out driving...now when I go to the lowes or home depot I rarely look at their mouldings now..😂

Brent Hull power lifts 500 lbs while eating a sandwich in one hand, all while looking jacked, tan and wearing a snappy, crisp shirt...that he didn't tuck in lol :)

So awesome! Just getting started on my library and I’ve got 4 books already and it’s kind of addicting. Love the library.

I have a library on esoterica and have reached a similar point: I want to share the knowledge with others so they can also learn. It's what a library is for! The materials won't last forever so preserving and documenting them digitally gives them a second life. It's awesome that you're sharing your library in this way and helping create a future generation for craft.

Astounding collection! I'm still working on my library; it is somewhat acceptable, but nothing like yours. What's discouraging to me is how difficult it is to find original sets of blueprints. Considering the thousands of catalog houses and all the other houses built during that era, you would think there would be mountains of blueprints.

Should think about digitizing your library

Amazing how many pieces went into some of those old constructions, before factory mass-production. Back when carpenters had to piece together a door frame or crown moulding, they really had to learn what these things were. Now, it's stop at the big box store and pick up something in the right price range.

Diresta and Andy Rawls have one of those huge bandsaws. They are pretty cool! I wanted to buy your "Historic Millwork" book but can't afford $100 right now. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge.

That’s great. A carpenters magazine would be a great way to learn.

I’ve just started a carpentry apprenticeship in Perth, Western Australia, but the company I work for do very little carpentry. I’m very keen to learn how to build beautiful homes. Any advice?

Recently you appeared in an episode of Finish Carpenter TV and discussed the best methods of repairing a Palladian window . The next video in his series is about how using a modern product like PVC is not the answer to repairing the window and instead you should use an old school, traditional method.
Could you do a video on methods that were used by carpenters and home builders in the past that didn't work out or last and what modern methods/products/inventions should be used instead?

oh that is great because most knowledge is getting lost through fires or other disasters.
it would be great if when you are done you put these on pdf and upload these at the digital archive.

Google Books has a lot of information digitized already. I have found some of the older books there you have mentioned but not all. Lots of stuff in the public domain.

Any ideas on where to find the MIT Construction Details Book? I would love to get my hands on one of those.

I think Chuck Norris is going to have to make way for Brent Hull
