I have had the unfortunate pleasure to have crash tested a Shoei, RF1200 and my head slapped the pavement in a violent 70 mph crash and I didn’t even have a concussion. Had some other injuries but the Shoei did its job! Thankfully I have almost fully recovered from all the other injuries! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤙🏼🤙🏼

Same deal with Arai, they are both a notch above a lot of the competition and the price reflects that. Definitely premium. 6D makes good helmets too. I found HJC to be a nice sweet spot with regard to price, features, and quality when you don’t want to spend a bunch. Arai and Shoei are top shelf for sure though.

Rf-1200, 72mph hit a sedan perfect t-bone over the hood of the car. Broken pelvis in 5 places, bruised my lungs, broken wrist in 3 places, the front of my helmet where my head hit the ground had hit so hard the rubber seal for the visor was busted and the visor was snapped off (not broken just popped off) but only a minor concussion 🤙🏾 no long term effects of the crazy on a neurologic level. If I had been wearing one of those POS ILM "helmets" I would absolutely not be here and if by some miracle I was I'd have severe brain trauma! Spending the money on a good helmet will save your life! Bluntly, you can live without an arm or a leg but you need your brain!

100% agree. I have several helmets, several brands. But I find myself always grabbing a Shoei. X-15 is up next!

Shoei helmets are awesome, extremely comfortable N well build! Helmets are Def one of a few things you don't want to cheap out on/cut corners with. You get what you pay for, have gotten a new shoei helmet every year since I started riding almost 15 years ago. The materials, how well they're built, they also look really freaking good which while it's irrelevant on how good it is, still makes a difference. You'll wear the helmet that looks, feels and is made better than every other brand. Glad you brought this topic up because a lot of people esp younger riders don't seem to think helmet quality, fit, finish, look when wearing . It's one of a few brands I fully trust that'll do its job when/if you fall, crash ect.

Very true! Shoei makes premium stuff! I remember trying on one of their helmets and thinking wow this feels like it’s perfectly snug to my face and very comfortable🔥🔥

My friend just got into a 100mph crash and went over the handle bars and his shoei saved his life. He didn’t remember anything but he’s alive and very much so functioning so that helmet was worth every penny

Yes it is!! I like the idea of Ari better, but my head just fit shoei nothing wrong spending $$ on a pice of gear that could save your life!!

Shoei is absolutely worth it. I just started riding again for the first time in 10 years. Picked up the RF-1400. ❤ cuts through air like butter. Drag and lift are barely noticeable

Low sided on a corner at 100kmph and slapped the side of my head onto the road then got hit dead centre on the front by my mate following behind in my Shoei x fifteen, not even a concussion. The helmet now sits as a display piece with a hole on the side and the tyre tread mark on the front. Safe to say ill be sticking with my shoei for awhile

100 man. I've had a little bit of everything out there. Shoei is king. X14 and now the X15....boss lids

Always get the transitions pin lock with it. I won't ride with anything other than my x14. It's the only helmet I don't need earplugs in. Once I hit 5 years with this, I'll get the x15.

Totally agreed. I wasted so much money on other helmets. Shoei as soon as i wore one i was sold and bought one
