Two amazing helmets! Do you have either of these? What are your thoughts?

Just picked up an X-Fourteen yesterday! I love it. It feels REALLY good, it doesn’t move around at all compared to my HJC (super stable), it’s quiet except when you turn your head to look back at higher speeds (the rear vents are always open) and bonus, there’s room for headphones. I am hoping to get to a track soon so I can give more on the helmet!

I'm a bit late to the party, but thanks for making this video. I've been trying to decide between the two, and I believe I'm going to go with the Shoei, as I'm strictly a street rider and don't need the race-specific features. Gotta say though, the AGV knocks it out of the park with the styling.

cant say anything about Shoei but i ride the Pista GP R's on the track and i wrecked two of them in hard crashes…. they did an perfect job!
so my Head loves AGV Pista GP RR's😂
enjoy the bike life

Shoei 200%. AGV is Italian and yes they make sexy looking stuff, but also unreliable and non-comfy. I had a Shoei X-14 matte black and it was the best helmet I've ever had. Super comfy and really quiet. No drags at all so you can concentrate on your ride. Probably saved my life from a crash against a pickup truck. Sadly had to buy a new helmet and went with a Scorpion EXO-R1 air carbon, because I didn't want to pay that premium price. Still have a great helmet for half price, but you can tell the difference in quality right out of the box. Probably gonna wait for Shoei nest generation helmet (X-15) and will buy another one.

Both great helmets. I personally like the x14 way better as it just feels better. The AGV just doesn't feel like a 1k helmet.

The chair and dancing routine earned a like from me.

I have both, the Shoei is more plush, the AGV vents better ans lighter and more stable . You can set the AGV shield a small amount for venting.

I got both… the AGV def is a lot (like… a lot…) louder. Also head shape is less oval (if that makes sense). The Shoei fits me like a glove. AGV not so much… also opening the visor with gloves on is less easy… AGV is more of a track helmet and has better view range…

I have both and the shoei is the one i grab the most for a ride. Also for street riding if you want a sena/freecom the shoei is ready to go. The pista has no room without mods and for a $1500 + helmet it would a cringe to do that!!

Every person has a different head shape, I try shoei, arai and agv..For my head shape AGV fits me for me perfectly😊

I mean a lot of this is going to depend on your head shape and how it fits. I've owned both AGV and Shoei and for me personally, even though I like the look of the AGV better, I find the Shoei performs better for me and fits a lot better.

Your AGV might have been one size too big - they have half sizes, like Medium small and Medium large. Having measured my head, I got a Corsa-R medium Small and the first try felt like the shell was too small and going to rip my ears. While my X-Spirit III (Medium) felt just good and easy to fit.

As for the ventilation, the AGV are very bad for that, or rather it only works well in racing position. When riding upright, the Shoei works much better and gets you cooled easily.

Wow, I was considering buying a GP-RR but I had forgotten the feel of my Corsa-R. It's really like there's no padding inside, it almost feels wrong. The X-Spirit III feels much better there. My Scorpion Exo R1 Air also gives a good feeling here.

I feel like I've saved a grand! Thanks Eric! ;)

Just got a Pista R. Have been wearing an X-14 recently. Agree with most of what you said ... Pista for weight, aerodynamics & field of vision. Shoei for airflow (and, therefore, also non-fogging, at least without a pinlock ... tho’ either should be fine with a pinlock installed), snug/reassuring fit, and better graphics/designs imo. The Pista visors have 3 positions tho’, not 2 ... ... I prefer the biplano/R rear spoiler, and don’t see any point in paying more for the RR (just seems like an AGV money-grab to me 🤷🏻‍♂️). Need to wear the Pista more, but I probably prefer the X-14 so far, since and ventilation are top priorities for me. Prefer the range of designs, too. I’m a bit surprised, since I thought the Pistas were meant to have the best airflow of any helmet ... ?! By the same token tho’, the Pista wasn’t as noisy as I expected. As a muso, I wear earplugs anyway, so - once again - ventilation is equal most important (and it’s corollary, noise, doesn’t really concern me).

I got the Corsa R, gloss black with silver iridium visor, slight more expensive than the Shoei but way cheaper then the Pista, less wind noise I think so best of both. Get a Corsa R.

I tried many helms including these but I chose agv because they were the most comfy shape for my head. They're all good choose what feels good

IMO the agv feels amazing looks amazing but the price. I tried it on at the dealership and it is the perfect helmet but if the helmet ever needs to be used for it’s proper purpose (u know a crash) then ur broke

The best pads I have ever felt are from iCon. I bought the Shoei GT air 2 mainly because all the reviews about it being quiet... Man... It's super loud! If I get to 60mph all you can hear is the wind noise.
