As an epic battle rages on to decide the BEST MARKER of all time.

-

Which is WORTH IT? Do you agree with today's results?

I think it was easily the most challenging to decide but both of these are the absolute best of the best, and any decision will be personal.
I had a blast creating this art today, I can not wait for the Mario movie! Will you watch it?

I will see you all again in the new year, have a GREAT time. Take care,
BYE.

You've acknowledged Bob again! I've missed you saying, "His name is Bob." You have no idea how much joy it brought me. Also absolutely love the art, it's hard to believe that Ohuhu have come this far in the game! Definitely would try them out if I started working with markers.

Good decisions! I did like the results of the promarkers more but at the Ohuhu price, they're 100% worth getting

Completely agree with your conclusion. Those Ohuhu markers are sooo good, especially for the price, but the overall finish on the Windsor and Newton side was crisper, had better tonal balance, and laid much smoother on the paper.

But if Ohuhu find a way to crack that ink quality while still retaining their price point, then that will be a game changer!

I prefer the finish on the Pro Markers, but I love the way Ohuhus always seem to fit this almost cartoony aesthetic, and I'd probably have to give it to them based on that since that's what my art style tends to be like.

I think both of them have their pros and cons and everything comes down to your preferences=) But if you need me to choose I am picking Ohuhu. They are cheaper, so I am less stressed and can actually use them=) Have a wonderful holiday time =3 See you next year!

I like the saturation quality of the Ohuhu markers, it is vibrant and works well with the subject matter. The W&N is more nuanced and muted, and it would look good on gilcee prints.

I feel the more expensive ones have a softer feel to blend colors gently and smoother without over-bleeding. Lovely coloring

Didn’t think it was a contest looking at the two sides - pro markers in a far more decisive victory than I thought it would be. Perhaps I’m not influenced by over saturated colors as much as others, but the Promarker side was smoother, more evenly blended, without surface mottling. You can replace the strongest point of the new Ohuhu markers - the chisel nib - with their Brush tip. But the one that I’d want to replace (the bullet nib) has far too small an opening (I’m looking at my brush/bullet nibbed Ohuhu skin tone collection to judge that). So - still will wait for a super-chisel plus brush variant.

Ohuhu’ s site, last I checked after your previous video, does not note individual ink refills at all. They aren’t currently available, nor is there any hint of them. So, until that actually is confirmed by Ohuhu themselves, there’s a definite limit to Ohuhu in replacing used up markers. No individual markers as replacements (beyond 16) and no ink refills. W&N Promarker Brush? Kind of a narrow selection - 72 colors, and that’s been for a while now. They are not even a tenth as aggressive as Ohuhu at expanding their line. I can get the set of 48 for a decent price - $100 shipped (Dick Blick Art Supplies). But at least I can get individual replacements. Copic seemed an expensive but more professionally attuned option (and I got mine at under $2 a marker, about the same as the W&N).

So, still hoping for a chisel/brush version of the Ohuhu, and an actual, non-vaporware ink refill. Until then - *great* beginner option, but flawed long term solution. Quick check at the Ohuhu site: search for “ink refills”. Nothing. At least as of yet. Checks specific listing for Kaala. Watches video. Nope. Nothing about ink refills.

Thanks as always for the comparison! It was fun.

Being that I like the more vibrant/saturated colors, I have to go with Ohuhu in this on this one.

Also I maybe bias over all, because I have some of their markers that came out before then even made the brush ones. I love them more than the few Pro Markers that I own.

Your renewed enthusiasm is wonderful to see!
And yes, of course Windsor & Newton won, they are, as Tina Turner would say...
simply the best!

Oh my god this video was so epic! Do the Ohuhu Kaala vs Copic Sketch next pls or maybe Copic Sketch vs Promarker for best marker ever.

The finish of the pro markers is much better than Ohuhu and the vibrancy of the Ohuhu markers is far better than the pro markers. I haven't tried pro markers yet but I may have to try them out for myself before I choose which is better...
Have a great Christmas and new year! 😊

I like both markers too, so I can't be mad. I love Ohuhu markers due to their price and love they can blend with other alcohol markers.

Hello Bob great to hear the older intro. Wonderful look at the new Ohuhu pens, I’m so liking the look of these and the shape change, aww hope they do put brush ends in and release them! I have the original set of Ohuhu and these baby’s are still going (I’ve refilled with ink) my very favourite ones are the pastel set which I just love, so many ways to blend with these. Yep I’m a Ohuhu fan so um yeah for the price I just can’t go past them. Hard to come by (NZ) but thank goodness for Australia Amazon. Have a lovely Christmas and a wonderful New Year, can’t wait to see what fun you have in store for us all next year, happy artting.

I myself have been using Pro/Brushmarkers for years now and they are my favorite brand of alcohol markers buuut... I'm looking for some (cheaper) alternatives and after watching your videos I... really don't know 😁 I'd love to give the Ohuhu markers a try (I'll just wait until my wallet recovers from Christmas...) especially with the brush nibs. I mostly draw cartoons so the vibrant colors are important for me. The only downside with the Ohuhu markers (but that's just me) is that I can't buy them in any art store, I can only buy them online which is a shame because whenever I run out of some color and I need it asap, I can just go to the art store and get it. With the Ohuhus, not so much... :( most of the art stores in my area sell Promarkers (and some other brand called Creadu but they only come in sets) so I'm kinda stuck :D Also, today I learned that I can buy the Ohuhu markers individually, not in sets so that's also important because if I run out of a color I can just buy one marker and I don't have to wait until I use up all the markers from the set or buy a brand new set just to get the one color I need 😏
