This happens a surprisingly frequent amount of the time. Gets really bad in the Cosmodrome when they're bouncing on top of the water and it makes your FPS have a brain aneurysm.

There’s a spot on the cosmodrome where they roll into one ditch and start sprinkling upwards and teleporting back down, it’s pretty funky

Watched one for half an hour witnessing the balls get sent to orbit somehow bouncing

Sometimes when this happens it causes such a bad issue that the next public event of the same type won't even load in the spider tank. The domes will spawn but the tank will never be dropped in.
