All Books in the Bible are perfect in their original form. Mistakes can be made in copying and translating, but we still get the message we are meant to get. If a word like "ran" should have been "walked" that has no effect on the main message. All Scriptures that are essential to salvation haven't been lost or changed.

I use to be one of those KJV only people.

Then i learned Hebrew and Greek and began to read the original texts.

Now im an original text only person.

Sorry guys but a translation is a translation, and a translation can never be as good as the original language text. The bible was written in Hebrew and Greek not english. A translation will only ever be someones opinion of what the text says, it can never be a perfect equivalent because of the difference in language.

The King James was a good effort for its age, but has many flaws and is written in 400 years old English that you probably arn't reading correctly anyway since the meaning of many of the words has changed massively since that time.

yeah, look...what about all the old seniors out there that want to read the bible or have a renewed spiritual awakening? must...MUST THEY READ an old, hard to read old English language bible??? NO, THEY DON'T HAVE TO. they can read a modern English bible and get teh same message!

As modern readers, we have access to resources way beyond those in past ages. We have Bible Gateway, YouVersion, and other Apps that allow us to view scripture from the most regarded translations. Read the same passage from several different translations.
Yes, scripture is the immutable Word of God ... but, it was written in ancient Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. So we are at the mercy of flawed human translators. Live with it!

Even if the translations are different, the message is the same. All the Bibles say not to practice pagan customs, to follow the commandments, to avoid sin, that Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that we must pray and ask for forgiveness. We need to love our neighbor and forgive our enemies. If we do not live by these things, it doesn't matter what Bible version you read because you will not be saved.

Very GOOD spoken! If “King James only” would be true, no Germans or French or other people not knowing English, could properly be acquainted with God. So...”English only”? Nay...ridiculous just!

It really just comes down to personal preference. I prefer KJV for my own personal study, but I know many people who have given up reading because they can’t connect with that translation. That’s far worse than trying to force my preference on others. My pastor uses ESV and I’m perfectly fine with that.

NASB, HCSB, ESV, and KJV. Study the texts in their literal and functional forms. Greek into English evolves over time. It’s not a matter of one perfect translation surpassing all forms of heresy in other translations. That’s bologna.

Thoroughly agree with Dr. Brown's assessment. Even some of the more recent translations still miss the mark. The greatest difficulty in translating from one language to another is the existence of idioms ... figures of speech. This is especially true of translations of an ancient language to another more modern language.
An outstanding example of this is the translation of Genesis 3:16. The majority of translations refer to the G-d's curse of the woman as "... thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." (KJV). With the NIV: "...and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." This and similar wording from most Bible versions.
Now check out this phrase with the ESV and the NET versions: "Your desire shall be contrary to[a] your husband, but he shall rule over you.” (ESV). And, "You will want to control your husband, [c] but he will dominate[d] you.”( NET).
Whoa. What's going on here? Note the footnotes within the quotations. These refer to a problem with the translation of the Hebrew word תְּשׁוּקָה (teshuvah, “desire”).
The newer translations explain why there is a kind of war between the sexes since the Fall while the majority of translations suggest the sexual attraction to one's husband.
I'll leave it to the reader to judge which is the more accurate translation, but I definitely believe that ESV and the NET should win this argument.

I personally have many Bible translations and plan on getting some more. Yet the accurate translations I have found to be the best for English would be:
1. An interlinear Bible which has Hebrew, Greek and English all in one. Can't get much better than that. (Also can learn the gematria of Hebrew and Greek).
2. The Alpha and Omega Bible which put in the Aleph-Tav symmetry and the proper names for YHVH Elohim (Downside is the book is pricey averaging $100 dollars).
3. The King James Version (Absolute classic and reveals much of the mathematical English gematria you would find reading an interlinear Bible but in the English language).
4. The New King James Version (Near the same eloquence of the sounding of the King James Version but with a more modern/natural read for today).
5. The New American Standard Bible ( Very accurate English translation and as well much more accurate in terminology and wording to the original Hebrew and Greek).
6. HalleluYah Scriptures Bible (Fairly new and accurate and uses the proper names of YHVH Elohim and ditches the "Lord" and "God" words like #2 on the list, downside is that they hard to find).
7. Young's Literal Translation is also very accurate and do recommend.

I agree that no translation would be perfect, but I do believe that KJV is best.

Read Proverbs 18: 24. KJV says "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."

In other words, Be friendly to have friends, and you will have a friend that is closer than a brother.

Now read it in English Standard Version(ESV): "A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." NIV usually says this as well.

In other words, "If you make too many friends, you will be ruined."

A) Does that make sense?

B) How is that the same?

Here's another verse- Hosea 11:12: "but Judah *yet ruleth* with God, and is faithful with the saints."

Here it is in NIV: "And Judah *is unruly against* God, even against the faithful Holy One."

Again, that is not the same.

Look for verses like Acts 8:37, Matthew 17:21 or Mark 9:44, 46-etc. Quite a few verses are missing in non-KJV versions.

Even The Lord's Prayer is different, non-KJVs omit "For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever, and ever, Amen."

"The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." -Psalm 12: 6-7 KJV.

Read it in spanish next to english and you will notice many differences in translation due to the fact that there are words in english that do not exist in spanish and vice versa, not to mention other languages when you try to translate from the original texts, so it is obvious that the KJV Bible is NOT the authoritative Bible as some thing. The Bible does not revolve around english as some think. Just look at Mark 7:19 where it is added to at the end

"Human product." That's all the explanation needed. No human is perfect and no product is perfect. Both were designed to do a job and both have flaws.
