Ah, Katusha, takes me back to snowy nights on the road with no where to go to, and no where to return to. Breaks my heart, but I can't help but love those days all the same.

I'm Russian and this is a masterpiece. I really loved this version of this song.

Sodier 1:Where did you get it?
Soldier 2:In the wrecked house.
Soldier 1:Katyusha, isn't it?
Soldier 2:Yeah and it sounds beautifull.
Soldier 1:Everything sounds beautifull in music box.
Soldier 2:It's not just beautifull, its hauntingly beautiful.

Imagine walking across the ruins of a once powerful nation with this music being played on the public loudspeaker during winter.

You saw a rocket coming towards you.

You got killed.

You see the light.

You see darkness and a table with 6 candle's.

And a music box playing Katyusha

*And you just realized that you just got killed by a Katyusha Rocket*

Joseph pulled up the door, it cracked in a old wood sound. The mansion was cold in his entierty and it gave Joseph shiver down his back, it was like he was alone with his sins.
He stepped in the hallway and he looked at the chandeler up on the celling, the mansion was old and abandonned but yet full of life. It looked familiar to Joseph but he was sure it was the first time he went in.

The sound of a music box resonated upstairs so Joseph went to see what was this and where it was, as he came near the music, memories were coming back. As he was walking up, he remembered why he found this house so familiar.

He went next trought his mother bedroom and finally found where was this lullaby coming from when he opened the door of his childood bedroom.

Katyusha was playing on the music box, he remembered how her mother used to sing it to him when he was asleep and for a second he heard her again.

Her ghost was singing for him and he let a tear go down his cheek as he was looking at the music box until it ends, when it ends Joseph said "я тебя люблю" and he heard "me too my child".

Joseoh freezed for a second and turned back but her mother was already gone.

When hearing this song, most make the same communism joke, but it is genuinely a good song. I found it when researching music for a book I’m writing (long story about that) and I just became obsessed, even memorizing it on the violin and piano. It’s hauntingly beautiful. Depending on how it’s performed, it could be hopeful, with Katyusha thinking about her lover off defending the border, or it could be sadder, with Katyusha remembering the past, and the one she held most dear being lost to the flames of war.
Overall a good piece.

Listening to this during the 4th month of quarantine and this hits different now that I’ve listened to this for a while and got back to listening this again.... not sad, depressed, or anguished, just, the vibe and mode of everything happening rn in the world (for me in my own life actually). Anyone else? 😒✨☕

LYRICS:
