I have purchased several sets of the 60 scholars as I have a teo sets for me & the rest I donated at Christmas to the toy drives. I also dropped a set with a couple coloring books at the hospital for in the family room.
The purple doesn't surprise me. Anything with purple is hard to get the color consistent. Thanks for sharing.

This was a really good video. I also buy the Scholars for my children, and they love them as much as I love my Premiers. I hope everyone remembers to like this video, so others can see it. It’s back to school shopping and I’m sure there are parents who have seen colored pencils on their school supply list .

Finally someone who actually uses their colored pencils!! New sub. Buying the scholar 60 right now!! I'm a big Crayola fan as well.

Amazon has the 60 ct prisma scholars for only 23.99 in the US. Definitely a great deal. The premiers are my go to but I must say, I was really impressed when I tried the scholars. I think they don’t get enough credit. They really are great pencils!

At first glance I was confused because the side you did the scholars on says premier at the top! I have been tempted to get the scholars because the 60 set is only 25 dollars now! (not even on sale), but I already have 3 sets of the 150 premiers (I know I have issues). I figure the scholars could be great backs up for my backups (....for my backups), but I had never really seen a comparison! So thank you!

I love my Scholars. I have both sets. The reason I turn to my Scholars is because I like the harder wax. Being heavy handed means less breakages and messy crumbs using the Scholars. I’ve yet to try Prismas Verithins. Have you had any experience with the Verithins?

Another thing too is that I find after sharpening my premiers the colours were better, might be same with scholars. I need more leads and more colours. I got the 60 set on sale at staples for $17 something ($20 something with tax CAD). I'm picking them up in store today. I'm just excited to double my collection and have more colour variation since some of the scholar colours I don't have in my premier collection. For the differences that they have, I think it's a great way to save money. Especially since I do mixed media with the base colours in alcohol based markers (I have a few copics but they're basically dead now so I am trying out ohuhu when they come in the mail) then details and shading with prismacolor

This is so informative! You helped me a lot. I use the premiers but I’m interested in the scholars just for the slightly different colors just for fun. The scholars are hard to get in Germany though.

I have those colors but they are not really worth it for their expensive price I recommend the maped ones, they are cheap and do good work.

I like the Scholar series better, but I just got a 48 piece of Premier for $35
