even back in high school he did this and would shoot mid 60’s consistently. He was a senior my freshman year and he was the group in front of me…he’s been gifted for awhile now.

Of course, i am nowhere near scottie in terms of golfing ability but i have very similar footwork to his; left foot spins around the heel after an impact and my right foot gets dragged towards the left foot causing over-rotation of the lower body. In order to compensate this, i naturally learned to drag my right foot towards my back and it worked pretty well, but everyone i met during my competitive golfing career tried to fix my left foot from spinning out as if it’s a death move. Now, i am just a weekend golfer, but it is refreshing to see someone with a similar “death move” and can still be no.1 in the world. My hat off to scottie for keeping his natural swing.
If he is a junior golfer, many golfing instructors would say he has reverse tilt/pivot at the top of his swing and his weight too much on his heel. There’s no right answer in golf swing. i am a strong believer that everyone has his/her own swing that’s natural and comfortable, and instructors should focus on how to make them repetitive enough to theirs rather than trying to transform it to that of Tiger woods.

He has already used the ground. He is literally hitting the ball on the outside of his left heel and then he is floating. He is closest to hitting in the air as any golfer. What's more amazing is he can repeat this with accuracy and he can chip and putt like a demon!

This is a cricket move. Keeps the body in balance when in full extension. Awesome!

On Point. Stand on front door when done for proper weight transfer

Major props to Randy Smith for all the help he has given to Scottie to help him reach his potential.

In a world where everyone is trying to be a Dechambeau swing, be a Scheffler swing.

Watching Scottie golf should give every average golfer hope. Such an amazing talent with a lot of non-typical movements. Love it

How good was the choice of Scottie as Captain's Pick in the Ryder Cup before he won anything? Maybe the best Captain's pick ever.

1:22 interesting that he doesn't have much lag coming down (by PGA standards). Shows how great his timing is!

I wonder if somehow this can relate to baseball because Fernando tatis jr does a very similar move with his back leg which helps produce him a lot of power very interesting.

Scottie's the man! Our beloved Texas boy. A steely competitor on the course, a devoted family man and Christian at home. I believe he is poised to run roughshod over the majors this year.

This is a strange one, its like Calcavecchia's swing, except he backs away from the ball coming down like Ballesteros and Purtzer did...he has obviously grooved it, but you gotta have major talent to have that much extraneous movement and be consistent

I would like to ask Scottie if he had a shanking or inconsistent heel strike issue before he started doing that foot move. It’s definitely a hosel proof move.

Wow, never noticed this. This guy's got game though. All of his Ryder Cup teammates said to watch out.

What kind of equipment or tool is being used to show such tracers....

Similar to Greg Norman in the 1980s when his foot would do the same as Scottie.

Imagine if some coach had tried to change his swing when he was younger.

Hopefully he stays consistent with it. Seems to me it might be a struggle on certain days
