In Acts 10, God gave Peter a vision of a sheet descending from the heavens. Included in the sheet were some unclean animals. He told Peter, "What God has made clean, do not call common." Was God telling Peter that it’s now okay to eat unclean animals?

Please, can someone explain what to do on sabbath. I’m alone, so can I find out what to do, I’m not Jewish. I feel soooo awful because I didn’t know Christians should keep the sabbath. I love our Lord and want to make him happy. So how do I celebrate or honor the Lord I love

Peter’s vision in Acts 10 is God showing that Gentiles can be saved, it means nothing about dietary laws.

Acts 10:17 ¶ Now while 👉🏾Peter wondered within himself what this vision which he had seen meant👈🏾, behold, the men who had been sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate.

Acts 11:18 ¶ When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “👉🏾Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”👈🏾

Peter went to Cornelius, a man who feared Elohim, so he probably ate clean. Cornelius knew Yahweh, but did not learn teachings of Yahushua.

Peter is spreading the good news to nations with people that fear Elohim, so they probably eat clean.

Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Yahweh cleaned people in other nations already. The voice said what Yahweh has cleaned, do not call common. The voice did not say all Gentiles are clean.

Kill and eat is like baptizing to death and eating people into the body of Yahushua.

It is both...he called unclean animals now clean and once unclean gentiles now clean.

I would say that Peter both being confused and still observing Jewish customs does equat God only using symbolism in this passage. Clearly we see Peter still struggling with this behavior in Galatians 2, so much that he has to be confronted by Paul because of his hypocricy in that moment. I would also add that there is a direct reason as to why God chose a diety law inside of the vision instead of something else that would be less confusing for a man still following laws that will make him legalistic at best. First f two things are happening at once. Out with the old, in with the new. Secondly, the new is for everyone and not everyone obeys jewish customs or have they been circumcised. So what, I want them, so please don't let food get in the way. For the jew, both people and foods can be labeled unclean until the new came which was an adjustment. We should all aim to be healthy if something enters your mouth that "was" labled sin, that is no more. Just another approach to consider.

Acts 10:14 But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.”

The understanding and doctrine of the day was that a Jew who is in a state of cleanliness would fall to a common state even if he/she ate with a gentile who were deemed unclean. But this doesn't explain why Peter would look at the CLEAN ANIMALS in the sheet and call them "COMMON". We know what made a JEW seen as "common", but not what makes an ANIMAL seen as "common."

So why did Peter refer to the ANIMALS, as "common"?

In your debate with tony I have to agree with tony. The verses you read is were its.the time before Jesus died and resurrected. So beginning of mark, Matthew, Acts and john is still old testament these books are transitional books from old to new. After jesus is where I agree with tony when jesus fulfilled the law

In all of that being said you still didn’t understand.. didn’t Jesus tell his disciples not to go to the gentiles but rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. So god telling Peter to have company with gents is a contradiction. To fully understand Acts 10 and person would have to go back in the old testament the scattering of the Israelites in all nations. Cornelius is an Israelites from one of the tribes not of Judah Benjamin or Levite who are (Jews) Solomon sin caused the kingdom to become divided . Ephraim caused 9 tribes to go into idolatry. Throughout time they were referred to as gentiles because they worship idols .. the became unclean uncommon to God. But God is grafting them back in. Cornelius and the 3 men are Israelites by bloodline

Brother, you buy too many of the replacement theologians' presuppositions. My translation says that "all kinds of animals" were on the sheet-like object. This implies that both clean and unclean would have been present. Therefore, it does not follow that the passage even implies that the dietary laws were being rescinded.

Number one Peter was in a "TRANCE" because of hunger like Jesus was when He was tempted by Satan at a "weak point" after 40 days and 40 nights. When you are in a "TRANCE " Mediums communicate with humans. It was in fact a demon attempting to stray Peter from Gods Word. The scripture said " A Voice" spoke to Peter, not God or the voice of God. You should question why God would say "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.” When it is God that is speaking.
