Clean, wash clothes, read, take a walk, shop at target, walk your dog, stretch, meal prep, write in a journal. There’s so much to do besides lifting weight come on guys.

What to do on your rest day when you really want to work out? Here’s what I do, I go to the gym and get a light pump on 😂👌🏽 The gym addiction struggle is real. Glad to know it’s not just me. 💪🏽✨

Going to church on at least one rest day is a great option. It refocuses on what's most important, and gives opportunity to interact with others.

Try practicing possing on rest days they really work on developing mind muscle connection and a great stimulating factor

A good thing to do during rest days is to do stretches and isometrics

Just rest until your muscles feel recovered. But a bit of mobility and stretching can help on rest days

we had a really good trainer in highschool football who was way ahead of his time. After every game saturday morning we would do a "recovery" work out which was basically a lift and work out we would do normally but lighter weight. We also always did dynamic stretches before games never much static streching. Seemed like it really helped. Always weird lifting when your body fealt recked but by sunday you were all good.

I workout everyday. I do chest day 1, back day 2, legs quad focused day 3, shoulders day 4 and arms day 5 legs ham focused day 6 cardio day with accessory workouts day 7 and by the time I’m at day 1 again I’m recovered enough to hit chest again and repeat. No issues 5 years plus. I only go very heavy for 1 multijount workout per day (squat, rows, bench, shoulder press, deadlifts) and drop set/volume the rest.

Taking an occasional rest day is okay. To me a rest day is doing what I’d do on a normal day but just not work out. This means: running errands, going to work, meal prep, taking a walk, etc

I go hard on my lifting days but it’s hard to let my muscles relax on rest days because my job involves heavy lifting.
You think that typa shit affects your gains?

Should you consume the same amount of protein on rest days as normal days at the gym?

This channel is awesome! My arms were too sore for me to do anything days after my workout, I watched this video, grabbed a kettlebell and now my arms are back!

I have glaucoma so I cannot drive. I walk every day no matter what. I also use my backpack to carry anything I buy when I walk to a store to buy things.

What about overtraining syndrome combined with anorexia which have both been problematic for >10 years? I've often been told by my treating 'professionals' that I need to get over my gym addiction and have more days off but I can't seem to concentrate or function on those days at all. I feel like a zombie.I've found for me still going to the gym to get a light pump helps me to at least function to get through that day, but in the long run my body isn't seeming to heal. I still feel very weak, fatigued and have lost my ability to produce testosterone to even be close to the lower range of normal.
