I DID IT!!! I’m a single woman who’s tool talent is shy of inept but thanks to this video my lock is securely installed and works like a charm-big thank you!!!

Thanks so much for this video. I had the previous Yale Assure lock, and the installation was more complicated as it involved more screws. Watching your video gave me more confidence of doing it alone, and literally took me less than 5 minutes to install.

How long do these things last in direct sunlight? Will the screen get damaged and become unusable over time?

Thank you so much for the video. I missed how to setup finger code scanner? Where I can just unlock door with finger scan?

How does the screen behave when its 🥶 cold outside. Has anyone had issues with screen during winter

To make this device better I recommend:
1. Build two additional battery ports to put 2 more pairs of batteries that engage when previous set drains.
2. add an upward camera like the Ring device so you can see the instant anyone touches the device.
3. Put a protective slide up cover to protect against the weather if device placed outside
4. add a biometric feature so you can use your finger print to open as an option to the key pad

You failed to mentioned the POS Bluetooth Module is NG so the app. won't work with Google Pixel 8 Pro. Also, it wouldn't fit my door either. Guessing Yale needs to release the Version 3 pretty quickly.

I had the first gen of the Yale for 10 years, replaced it last night with the no key option (YRD450). My gen 1 was starting to look bad, too much wear. Sun faded the screen and casing was changing color. Looking forward to 10 more years with this one.

I have the original nest Yale lock and my two biggest issues are the fact that you cannot add a passcode for a single lock. So if you want to create a passcode for somebody they have access to your house, your garage, your utility room and so on, If you have more than one lock. That seems kind of ridiculous. But anyway. The other main issue is that I have five locks and one is on its own nest connect. This one lock repeatedly goes offline whenever the batteries run out or there's a power loss. In either scenario I must remove the lock and re-add the lock.

Works great when it works. The August gen II is solid, way better. Maybe my yale is a lemon, and it's rotten. Auto unlock is glitchy

At random times this lock makes an alerting sound. Yale said we should press the "yale" button first, but still happens when the "yale" button is pressed before entering code. When the door makes this alerting noise the lock will only unlock manually. Which is frustrating me and family when simply leaving for 10 mins to walk the dog. Yales tells me dismantle the door, and unplug and plug in a white cord to reset the lock, but it still happens. Thank goodness more then one person is home when this happens, but I have to replace it as my wife, and my teenagers have no confidence in this lock that continues to lock them out of the house.

I'm gonna get one now, I like the video very informative, thanks taking the time to explain how it works.

Does the app have a gauge to tell you when the battery is critically low? Or do they just die and it is a surprise?

By chance, did you test and confirm that this works on WiFi for HomeKit? From my understanding, Apple doesn't allow locks over WiFi. Only Bluetooth or Thread.

I just buy it. It’s after midnight and the lock is making so much noise. It’s showing that the door is unlocked on the app when it’s lock. It’s also saying that the door is jammed. I paid $150 for installation and it is frustrating.

I still have the Nest x Yale lock, love it to this day! The convenience of being able to remotely enable/disable guest passcodes, schedules for allowing guest passcode entry, etc is incredible. My sister and parents have their own passcode to my house 😂
