Chinese spy balloon shot down by US government

The Chinese government has accused the US of a "serious violation" after Joe Biden ordered a fighter jet to shoot down a Beijing spy balloon which passed over sensitive American military sites.
“For the US to insist on using armed force is clearly an overreaction that seriously violates international practice,” the Chinese foreign ministry said in a statement.
Beijing called the shooting “an obvious overreaction” and threatened that it “reserved the right to take further actions in response”.
