The market being down is not always a bad thing! There are great companies at amazing prices right now... especially for retirees! It is your chance to grab safe 4-5% yielders. Today, I've used the Dividend Stocks Rock REIT Screener to look at Canadian REITs and see if there was a few ones that show constant distribution increases and a yield above 4.5%. Here are the best three!

I like CAR, GRT, REI and SRU. I only hold REI and SRU presently in my TFSA. Zero in my taxable or RRSP accounts.

What account should I hold Granite Cash, tfsa or rrsp because of the withholding taxe ? Thanks Mike

I would be very careful about Granite and Magna. Not saying they will go bankrupt or anything, but I think they are underestimating Europe energy crisis impact on industrials.

Of course its only a part of their portfolio, but cheap gas era is over in Europe. I feel like they are minimizing risks.

Own GRT.UN- down 10% - probably add to. CAR>UN - looking at as well. Own CTC.A - so will stay away from CRT.UN.
