Nice one I miss the old Santa Fe, I remember back in 1992 I was only four years old seeing the old Santa Fe debut back then. I first visit Barstow Ca in the Mc Donalds area by the 15 fwy, we ate there but before we ate, we were near the Santa Fe mainlines railroad tracks. Also at the time it was just me and my dad watching the Santa Fe train go by there and it was nighttime. I remember seeing Santa Fe old EMD like SD40-2 mostly my favorite locomotive of all time. Til this day my dad still remembers us watching the old Santa Fe that day.

Nice catch. That Santa Fe paint scheme may be one of the top recognized in the US and that DS44’s original build date was 1949, Gram-paw locomotive
