Oh my gosh! An excursion running a 6v53t. This will be the best build of all builds ever built in your building!

I think you’re going to be the first man to successfully mount a buzzin dozen in a Ford Ranger!👍

I think were it my project, I'd look at some smaller twin turbos in parallel - one per bank. It looks like you have more room in that area vs. needing a large cowl hood, but of course videos make it hard to tell things like that. It would probably be a cleaner install overall.

I'm picking up a 1975 c30 tomorrow that has a 6v53 in it since 1976 . Been sitting since 1989 .

I’d love to see an Excursion with a 6v53t and a superduty front/rear end conversion

Correct me if I'm wrong, but to me logic dictates although the 6-53 would be wider than the 4-53, it would be shorter front to back since there are four cylinders in a line where the 6 has three in a line. There is the offset of the banks, but I'd still think the 6 would buy you at least a little room front to back. That would be a cool build with a 6-53.

Find an old beater to put the 6 in. Like a old super duty with a solid front axle and flat bed. It be a great shop truck.

The 453 is a clean fit and decent mpg. It looks great as a daily driver.

I know I'm 3 years late to the party, but turbos under the bed with long piping is always an option. Did it in a 6bt crown vic I built.

I worked on these in colorado springs. I always wanted to make this swap into my 95 F250.
I just subscribed, thanks!

It’s a better idea than the 6.4 diesel

3 inch body lift might give you enough clearance

excellent video! you can add some sort of scoop on the hood to compensate the turbo:)

I think I would try and do a dry sump for these old Detroits. Could save a lot of height from that really deep oil pan.
Just a thought.

I was wondering what was up in Green Leaker Labs between the last update and this video. At the same time, I am no longer wondering how long you'd be happy with just the 4-53T...

Is this your own shop? I was wondering because I want to start my own shop where I only work on detroits and old diesels. How would I go about that?
