O Janārdana, although these men, their hearts overtaken by greed, see no fault in killing one’s family or quarreling with friends, why should we, who can see the crime in destroying a family, engage in these acts of sin?

Life lesson :- Obligation is good only when the outcome / effect is good, otherwise it is not.

Obligation is only when there is good consequence. KRISHNA's instruction is the main obligation.

Hare Krishna 🙏 like Arjuna many a times we take decision under influence of materialistic attachment however Bhagwad Gita not only acts as a guiding torch light for us to live righteous and purpose ful life but also takes a one step closer to Krishna 🙏

Arjuna is an intelligent personality. Obligation can bind us only when the effect is good... We are fortunate to have each verse explained so very well 🙏

Beautiful learning today, yes we are obligated to act only if it is meant for the greater good of the other. Otherwise we have the option or rather should have the wisdom to withdraw from acting upon the same.
Thank you Prabhu Parth for explaining it so aptly.

We are never bonded to do something. We must think abt the Conciquences, and others and the result . If the results are good then you may do it but if result is not good then no one is bound do anything

First of all Thank you for this daily one verse concept. It was always my wish to listen and understand The Geetha in a simple way. @kartikeya das you have made this happen while sitting at home. I think I am reviewing this because I am ready to absorb this blessing of Sri Krishna.

Hare krishna prabhuji,
Obligations bind us when the effect is good and not when it's bad.

Obligation is actually binding when the effect is good, but when the effect is otherwise, then no one can be bound.

This sloka explains we are obliged to do activity when we are seeing this good impact, here Arjuna could see that it's going to lead the destruction, so he does not want to fight, as a Kshatriya he had to accept the challenge for this war.

No obligation is binding unless effect is good
