Galois theory is just pure beauty. Words can't describe how brilliant Galois was, and he developed this tool before his age of 20 wow

I’d say that the content it’s even more psychedelic than the cover. Crazy stuff happens after Galois theory in commutative álgebra and algebraic geometry. Everything is developed itself in pure beauty just like in a painting where every color has its own purpose..

Just bought it for fun. Will read it briefly. Half of it I know by heart, and the whole theory I learned a long time ago via Serge Land and Postnikov books. Maybe also Van der Waerden and Chebotarev. It’ll be nice to refresh my childhood memories. Feel excited.

Bought it some years ago... It's really great. Easy to read and follow, and still very precise. Love it.

I might get that book. I have a math BA but I know nothing of this field of math.

Good review, I’m headed over to Amazon to purchase it. I don’t recall studying Galois Theory for my math BA.

I'm a chemical engineering student. Why should I buy this book?

Ah, why the hell not?
Just clicked on your link and bought it :P

Galois theory was part of an algebra course at our university. It was a little bit of work but finally it was stunning to work with and prove the lemmas. The books looks nice but i can`t really tell, like where does it stop. Does it deal with solvability problems? It would be nice to have something to clear up some questions without putting to much effort into refreshing all the definitions.

I heard a lot about Galois theory and how it is beautiful, but never got a chance to travel in that world ! I am reading this book for fun, and i am already in chapter 2, i love how the author present concepts so quickly and so smoothly ! This book is a pure beauty and joy to read ! Does it bother u guys if i ask questions in the topic?

I’m gonna get this book as well, seems it’s easy to finish.

Is there a good brief book like this with problem sets? This book looks cool, but its hard for me to really absorb the math without doing it

Also I saw Noethers equations in the contents. Are those related to her conservation-symmetry theorems in physics?

> book on galois theory
> only shows the vector space part
XD
(seems like a nice book though)
