In the episode "Killin' Time" Sam leaped into Leon Stiles. Leon was a murderer, holding a woman and her child hostage. Leon ended up escaping the "waiting room" and the episode featured Al leaving the facility to try to retrieve him, because until he was returned to the waiting room, Sam was unable to leap. Leon, upon seeing his reflection was not his own (everyone saw him as Sam Beckett), freaked out and fled back to the facility in order to try to get back home. Gooshie takes on Al's roll as the hologram that interacts with Sam while Al is away.

Challenge the argument???
Ok.
They addressed the topic multiple times.
Al often talked to whatever person happened to be inhabiting Sams body in each episode to find out information to help Sam do his thing in the past.
My favorite was Dr Ruth giving Al Love advice which kept distracting Al from assisting Sam.
There was even an episode (Killin' Time) where a killer in Sam's body escapes the holding room, and Al has to catch him & bring him back so Sam can Leap.
Or the episode that Al & Sam switch places, & Sam finds out he has a wife while Al has to fix things so they can Leap.
I really wish when people or groups make content like this, that they would actually watch &/or research the original content first. They sound like mindless morons when they don't take the time to LEARN about the subject they're talking about (common problem with most media in recent years).

Sam's body was shown in at least two episodes to show what happens in each leap.

Waiting room - Sam's body controlled by the murderer escapes the Quantum Leap facility.

Dr Ruth - We see Dr Ruth speak to AL while Sam is in Dr Ruth's body, doing what he does.

The quantum leap premise is that Sam's spirit and soul swap with the person Sam uses to complete the episodes synopsis. This means the 'targets' spirit and soul transfer to Sam's body in the imaging chamber.

This, however, wouldn't be possible due to what happened in real life to Ella Salamon in 1894, who under deep hypnotic suggestion died when a man identified only as “Mr. Neukomm” commanded Ella to enter 'the patient'. Ella died.

Since our spirit and soul are tied to our own body, Quantum Leap wouldn't be possible, but makes for interesting and most of the time, enjoyable viewing.

Watch the original show more. This issue is addressed. It's explored more than people think, just little things here and there throughout the show. It seems as though Sam's body remains and he is switching auroras or whatever. My question was always how they knew to have a "special room" for the leaps to occur in. You could say, Sam is taken from the accelerator every time and taken to the room but what happens when he's ready to leap out? I can't see them rushing Sam back and forth all the time. What they were late. Plus I remember at least one time when the leap is shown in the waiting room. So it could do with a bit of explanation. To just not include it in new show, is a missed opportunity especially if Ben has an easier time remembering. They could probably leap him again, into the person like The Leap Back. That seemed to work. 30 years later it still is a problem for some reason.

Unfortunately, the creators of this video didn't do their homework! According to canon, Sam's body ALWAYS stayed in the future while his mind/soul was in the past.
The ONLY exception was in the series finale. That's because it really was Sam talking to God/Al the bartender. This is why Sam's body was never found after the finale.

They are going to have to explain a LOT in the new series as we see the face of the person leapt into when a mirror is held up. So WHERE is Ben's body? It SHOULD be in the waiting room!

In the original show it was explained quite a bit. Sam's body was in the "waiting room". Whenever he lept into someone, Sam occupied their body while the person occupied his.

The original series has leapees entering Sam's body and acting things out, even one where Dr Ruth Westheimer psycho analyzed AL in the present.

There are several Chanel’s using this exact same script and it seems none of them ever watched the show. There’s no controversy about where dams body was or is. His body switched placed with the person he leaped into. That’s how he could walk when he leaped into the soldier with no legs. Do these people watch a single episode then assume they are experts?

This is a total load of crap. Sam’s body was SHOWN in the waiting room several times. In fact, there was an entire episode called “Killing Time” that centered around what would happen if the person Sam leaped into (who was in HIS body in 1999) would leave the Waiting Room in his body. So, clearly you didn’t do your homework.

It’s says in the narration with the woman’s voice before we see Sam enter the body that he stepped into the quantum leap accelerator and vanished he awoke trapped in the past

Al stated to Sam that Sam was in fact Sam body and all, but the hosts "Aura" was around them. Same thing as in the Waiting Room. The Hosts body was there, but Sam's "Aura" was around them. Al, Gooshie, Zoe, and Thames went through some sort of procedure that connected the Neurons and Masons (Whatever Masons Are) from Leaper to Observer, which allowed for them to see who was really there, and the presence of a holographic observer from the future.

This was also why in the episode where Sam leapt into Leon Stiles Gooshie made a near successful contact with Al as a hologram, and why Alia could see Thames in "Revenge Of The Evil Leaper.

But getting back to the point of the bodies, there is a lot of evidence that Sam is using his own body. In the pilot episode Tom Stratton's wife had a moment where Sams kiss felt strange to her. In Raped I doubt that Katie McBain would have been able to give her rapest the beat down Sam gave him if it was her body. In Trilogy Abigail Fuller said to Sam how when she was in bed with Will Kinman how it didn't feel right, before Sam leapt in. Finally the prime example which should seal the deal, is when Sam leapt into Ronald Miller an Amputee. If Sam leapt into his body only he wouldn't have been able to get up and walk freaking out that bully nurse before knocking him out.

the intro clearly says he disappeared and we see the bodies of the people that he leaped into appear in the future in some episodes.

What about the episode where Sam was an amputee in a wheelchair. He got up and walked (floated) with no legs. Was that an Aurora?

I doubt it will be reseolved since this reboot is gonna get cancelled.

To keep things clear in my mind, I personally see the new Quantum Leap series as an alternate timeline future and not the official future to the original series. Therefore as far as I'm concerned, it is not an official canon to the original series. Any changes or retcons have no bearing on the original history. Being that this is nothing more than science fiction, there is no right or wrong way to view the series.

What or who is the bartender at the end? Why is Sam’s name spelled wrong? I can’t believe it was a mistake because there has always been a diligent effort in props.

You can make a lot of changes to tech in, what, 30 years. Sam leapt bodily, Ben doesn't. Folks on both sides of this argument are expecting consistency where it isn't obligated.

I swear if the haters cause this show to get canceled I will make them wish they had never went near these videos i am a fan of this show i don't care if Sam returns he made the choice to save Al's marriage at the end of quantum leap that sent him on alone he is done but that does not stop the door from opening for another leaper

Sams body leaps into the person “aura space”. So it’s actually sams body covered in the persons “shell”. The other person would leap into the “Waiting room” where that person would see sams image in a mirror.

I'll say one name which shows that Sam Beckett's body indeed leaps through time. Sammy Jo Fuller.

Search another instance, where Sam leaps into a man with amputated legs.

Come on, if this show can't follow the original storyline of the show, it deserves no connection to it.
