Tesla Is Scrapping the $25,000 Car -- Or Is It?

Reuters reported today that Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) is no longer pursuing the $25,000 vehicle that has been promised for years, choosing instead to focus on robotaxis. Elon Musk responded that this wasn't true, but didn't give any real detail. In this video, Travis Hoium discusses why we shouldn't overlook this report and where Tesla faces challenges in the future of EVs and autonomous driving.

Musk confirms the Reuters article after hours! He wants to unveil the Robotaxi on 8.8. If he did that is makes so sense to produce a "Model 2" any more. The question is if this plays out well for Tesla or not...

Don't quite understand the comment about declining sales volumes illustrated by the chart at 4:55 time stamp. There is a clear uptrend with a dip in Q2 2022 and recently in Q1 2024. Might be worth looking at smaller time frames or at least waiting for the next quarter to print before making statements like that. So much drama everywhere.

I have 250 shares of Tesla at the moment at 220 a share. Im down. I would like to have 500 shares. I can only afford to buy 20 shares a month. But Im at a cross roads now. Just not certain whether to put more money in Tesla anymore even though I can afford to do so.

I mean both the Robotaxies and the Model 2 were to be built on the same platform from the beginning. So When one materializes the other is pretty much there. I think they already have model 2 figured out and are pushing forward to get the Robotaxi out by 8/8. Maybe they will reveal both at the same time. With steer by wire which they have already sorted out on the Cybertruk, converting a Robotaxi to a model 2 should not be too hard. Just thoughts.

I read the article, it's very substantive and Musk didn't really deny it. The article says there's been a clear robust shift from affordable EVs to Robotaxis, Musk confirmed by announcing Robotaxis in the next post.

I think money speaks for itself.you can buy a corolla for 22000 or a telsa for 39000.even if there's a tax incentive. Still a 32000 vehicle. Now coming put with a 25000 vehicle. It's very questionable to compete with other brands.

How much does Tesla make on a single car? Sources? Business plan? You might want to read the Masterplans (3 of them) before spinning narratives. Shameful, deceptive, total waste of time
