Lost touch with my soul
I had nowhere to turn, I had nowhere to go
Lost sight of my dream
Thought it would be the end of me

I, I thought I'd never make it through
I had no hope to hold on to
I, I thought I would break

I didn't know my own strength
And I crashed down and I tumbled, but I did not crumble
I got through all the pain
I didn't know my own strength

Survived my darkest hour, my faith kept me alive
I picked myself back up, hold my head up high
I was not built to break
I didn't know my own strength

Found hope in my heart
I found the light to life my way out of the dark
Found all that I need here inside of me

Oh, I thought I'd never find my way
I thought I'd never lift that weight
I thought I would break

I didn't know my own strength
And I crashed down and I tumbled, but I did not crumble
I got through all the pain
I didn't know my own strength

Survived my darkest hour, my faith kept me alive
I picked myself back up, hold my head up high
I was not built to break
I didn't know my own strength

There were so many times
I wondered how I'd get through the night
I thought I took all that I could take

I didn't know my own strength
And I crashed down and I tumbled, but I did not crumble
I got through all the pain
Oh, I didn't know my own strength

My faith kept me alive
I picked myself back up, I hold my head up high
I was not built to break
I didn't know my own strength

I was not built to break, no, no
I got to know my own strength

It's been A year without my mom, I'm all alone in this world but I will not crumble. I know God has A purpose for me and I will not break that is not what I was built for.

Sadly those around her destroyed her… she was an angle with the strength of a lion but a human heart that was shattered by evil people. Her talent and beauty lives on in her songs. RIP

I remember Mama, My fam, my favorite black soloist, my roots, and my purpose on earth: What ever ancient past you embrace, do it for confidence but know it is not African everywhere! Our civil wars ended with slavery, our victory began with scientific discoveries, liberty and research! My greatest experience as a black African American native born free woman is learning my true identity! Mary McCloed Bethune then enlightened me even more when one of her best quotes came into my life, as a black woman I look up to her spirit, a true African spirit amongst many heroic black women like Whitney Houston an American story, she said, “the minute I learned how to read, the universe opened UP to me”! We historically have defeated many challenges as a people from many different levels of life from Science, religion, and now to sealing our true identity in our souls and reconnecting to our origins and our roots! For me that means we are at our best! Malcolm said we must “get to the root” of who we are, this is liberating knowledge both for us and our love ones! How can a man be a free spirit unless he knows who he is! Sure we are flawed humans, and we do no profess to be invincible, but we are real humans, and we have won our liberty, no man gave us liberty or death! We feared death in our liberty! No, we are not the only ones, but we are AMONST those who know true victory is not cheap “White” burnt charred defeated grace, looking for rewards! True Victory is the ancestors without a reward that stood up in our roots to define who we are so that we will never have to compromise what was always ours, the innate right to be born free, and liberated to stay free! That is what Africa is in me! I am the Ethiopian Queen that was stolen four hundred years prior to your birth of a nation? I am Africa! Ethiopia was a small island when it started now it represents in your white washed studies the infamous Ivory Coast, (speaks for itself), Israel (the diamond field), Egypt (the ancient tombs of Kings), and South and Northern East and West Africa (Defeated apartheid)! Now, here, in our true selves today we are rich in resources, soil, knowledge, break throughs, global people, food, land and water! Vast in mountains and wild life! It is good to know we are Africa, America you are our native adoption! We are estranged brothers here not by our own doing, but it is nice to meet you? Let’s strive forward in our victories as brothers, and Keep our true identity as we too live, thrive, and succeed in this the real world! You are alive and free! FYI, my oats have become wheat in this “your” land of milk and honey, Thank you Father earth for all that we are, and all that we are not!
