Since its debut in 1968, it has gone on to be the workhorse to beat, with every new vehicle in this segment aiming to be like or dethrone the Hilux, and that has certainly proven difficult, as till this day, the Hilux is still at the top of the sales chart.

This car is the real deal, im not a big fan of Toyota but this one, im happy that i have driven 1 and this car is a true legend on bakkie environment, the downside on this car is safety, but other than that, this is a beast

Toyota gave this Hilux the most appropriate name "Legend". No other bakkie manufacturer comes close to the toughness & reliability of the 'Hilux', period!! Toyota sold double the number of Hilux bakkies last year compared to the Ford Ranger in South Africa. Now with the new Ford Amarok (pun intended) being introduced, lets see how it sells when the numbers come out early next year.

the legend is boss bro just wish they'd beef it up a little bit when the 9th generation comes out because ford is definitely going to give it a run for it's money but I've recently heard that a lot of Ford customers who bought the new Ranger have been having difficulties with their new bakkie systems so if Ford doesn't fix those little issues I'm afraid they won't make sales because Afterall, people are after reliability and not looks and that's where Toyota comes in.
